This is a perfect example of why I don't like simulation mode.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpjAP48e1mI&feat... No fun at all. IMO a slippery unstable bike doesn't = simulation! The only thing a slippery unstable bike represents is a hard handling physics to try and emulate a simulation but fails miseribly |

About this stuff I have talked a trillion times. And I'm glad you are pointing this out, but some people swear that crap bull is a real simulation !.

I agree Matrix! Arcade mode is way closer to reality IMO! And much more fun.. I want a game that allows you to do thousands of laps without falling so you can see every lap where your losing time to be able to make fine adjustments every lap, NOT a game that creates limits within the limits, meaning if you push a tiny bit hard you fall knowing very well you can push way harder in reality.. Sure I can ride against my front brake in Simulation mode and ****foot around the track and possibly even get a faster lap time? But I don't want to! I want to push all the way! IMO the whole art/skill of MotoGP gaming is finding the perfect line around and sharing that common bond with someone else whos taken the time to also find the perfect line! |

I don't know. I mean I definitely see the argument "SIM is just harder, not necessarily SIM" but still, I think you might think arcade is more SIM because real riders don't crash so much. But in MotoGP 08 I thought they did a half decent job with the SIM. Mostly because I find myself easing the front brake rather than nailing it. Same with the throttle. I feel on SIM I always "just crack open" the throttle exiting the turns. On arcade the throttle is compensated so you can just nail the gas whenever you want and the game will apply just the right amount of throttle. In essence I suppose that is more SIM considering real riders have traction control and from what I've heard they DO just nail the throttle and the bike's electronics apply the right amount. Still I find it a lot more fun on SIM cause you can exit the corner give it a bit too much throttle and make the rear tire slide out a bit. That's a lot of fun. My other problem with arcade (on MotoGP08 anyway) is that the game doesn't allow you to take the line you want. It artificially slows you down so you can't run the corner deep. I also feel you can't get as low as a lean angle when playing arcade. I generally find arcade extremely frustrating. Even though on SIM you can crash soooo many times for suspect reasons. Nice thread! |

Totally agreee! You could never pull something like this off in the SIM mode which it doesn't get more SIM than this! |

While your statement is correct and I agree with it 100% that video is not a good example. That guy totally sucks. You really don't fall that much on sim mode (on 08 anyway) |

Drifting, I can do it with MotoGP 3 URT game. Right now I'm trying it on GP 06 it's difficult because the tracks it seems not to be similar as GP 3, with GP 07 the bikes models are smaller and it give a lot of room on the track, but in sim. no way can't do, rear hard tyres has no grip at all, rear hard tyres setup is useless, and in GP08 if you want to go fast is a nightmare, falling is the main core.
