Surprised

Guys(and dolls)

Lets try to put our differences aside and see if we can get the attention of the two guys who are busy playing with MGP09(Innocent).  Let's face it,  if we dont get their attention, we're going to be stuck with crap,  that's obvious.

The way I see it so far:  Steve has the ability to ask the top guys questions AND relay suggestions from the people passionate enough to elaborate their ideas(even in the face of potential nothingness/backwardness).

Steve:  Maybe you could explain a basic layout of the feedback system.  These guys are in the UK developing MGP9,  are there any other discussion boards, in any other countries,  that are asking for feedback?  Can we see what they are saying? Vice versa? It can't be just us in the world saying what we say to you, hoping you will pull the odd question out and ask for, and accept, pretty flimsy answers.

I have my top five suggestions and, I'd like to see you put a poll together based on top five questions.  We have a wide range of ideas, from arcade to exact simulation.. please help sort this a bit better and relay to the devos that it's probably time to rethink layout and features.

1)- The apex.  Please make the apex of the game the hardest possible way to play and the most realistic.  Please stop mixing arcade and sim features.  Sim: that is: movable rider position,(up down+side to side) horizon levelling, look to apex and top notch physics.... we'll wait another year for the scanned tracks. Wink   Please keep stats and scores and structure geared the way it is in reality... the hardest =MotoGP, not 125cc, not rookie red bull, not 250cc, not anything else.. MotoGP!  the hardest bikes = fastest and are the TOP STEP of the series.   Please make "simulation" mean simulation and stop adding arcade into that mix..

2)- Controller support.  It's time to offer more than simple, lame controller support for a game pad.  Please unleash the AXIS!!!! (rider leans-look toapex-back brake)  Currently, we see pong mentality with a high speed motorcycle.. doesn't work anymore.  The arcade controller reinforces the arcade approach to the situation.  When I select "simulation" I dont want to have to change my bike view from chase look or worry that the non motorcycle devos are going to control my axis for me.   Default chase view reminds me that it's not a serious thing,  this realism part.  Please address this for the bulk of fans who reach higher, play harder and ask for more. @ least give us look to apex!!!!!!  You could show them the vid I posted of GP-Bikes look to apex.

3)- Stats... Not keeping solid, lasting, continuing stats makes the game a cut-off, one-off flip off culture that trashes blood, sweat and tears of the players.  Example:  Where are all my stats from MotoGP07?  In the crapper for no good reason.   You need a database,  one that works and carries on the efforts of your participants over the years. Surely someone from Capcom can look at iRacing's amazing setup.

4)- Unity... Why the hec cant people of all platforms play each other?  Nuts,  thats just nuts.  The chat, setup, play and go idea is dreadful as it stands.  Dreadful.    Organized races. Prizes, seasons.. something!!!!  ANYTHING!!! Lets us see the best laps, race records and points of our nemesis competitors...

5)- Fix the menus!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respect the time of people who play a lot by making menus that factor in loading times, remember settings, skip unnecessary loads and screens and SIMPLIFY!!!! bawhaaa!  Devos have to understand a game being loaded for the 10,000th time with stupid menus is obscene..yes obscene and offensive.  Keep your time wasting, menu red lights and detours for yourselves!! awwww!.

If we had a poll format,  we might see better that response to features/suggestion but you need to collate the mayhem Steve......  I think the "top 5" idea may help.  I hope you can do this and then send it to the devos..quickly, before it's too late!  hehe.

Please board guys,  just put your ideas down as clearly and cleanly as you can.  Let's see if Steve can cross reference our ideas and come up with a point blank page for the devos.... Speak up all you lurkers!

All perfect! This is great, basically I agree with everything you just said! I know its filler but the presentation of MGP08 was just laughable (and I love the game). Its too bad cause it lloks like they had to rush. Too bad they didnt get more time to pollish it. I want some real life footage in the game. Check out menus from games like Madden (btw I have been boycotting Madden for several years now). They have a bit TOO much going on so maybe thats a lil extreme, it doesn't have to be that flashy.

Please let us create our own satellite team! Even if it was just a rehash of Climax 07

I think anticheat is a good one to suggest!!!

Dayam I detest cheaters!  Designing tracks with careful attention to eliminating corner cheats would be easy. EXAMPLE:  In SBK09, assen,  if you cut you bog down.. they dont do it enough and allow dozens of corners to be cut... thats just poor track design.

try to get five suggestions/complaints down on paper and then posted here Andrew so we can cross reference!

Another wasted thread, ... what you have talked about it has been suggested all along for as long I can remember and this is way before Monumental, Milestone GP08 and Namco's series, ... and thus far the Dev's hasn't listen because they have not responded to our questions in detail ... A "yes" or "no" answer is not good enough specially for the hardcore gamers, never mind me, I'm a casual gamer who wants just something good to play.

I'm sure that Monumental has already finished the product, but yet they want to make a few "touch ups" before releasing, so at this stage to ask them for so many things to put in the game, is like telling them to scrap the whole thing and build it from scratch. I hope greatly Monumental will come up with a Home Run in the ninth Inning and score big, really that's what I want, I'm growing a bit bored with the same old games.

OK "casual gamer",  just put up 5 things you want for MGP9! We all know what the history is,  we all know the chances aren't good and we all know that the devos are disconnected from what we want. Put aside all your past disappointments and try to state your request one, LAST time!!!  Just put up your observations "one last time" for the record.   C'mon guys,  there is no 9th inning homerun without a good swing at the ball.

Your top 5 issues...Yell

Agree with you gog, but that's not going to happened with Monumental working under Capcom orders, this game has to look like Street Fighter on wheels, no questions asked. Another wasted thread, ... what you have talked about it has been suggested all along for as long I can remember and this is way before Monumental, Milestone GP08 and Namco's series, ... and thus far the Dev's hasn't listen because they have not responded to our questions in detail ... OK "hardcore gamer",  just go and read my previous posts and there you got your requests, most of them are on "MotoGP Video Gameplays" Thread.

MotoGP is the world’s premier motorcycling championship,... What about the game?

  • 1) Custom Team/Livery - in this day and age customization is everything (how else could the most hideous Scion cars be so popular?) sports games especially! NBA, Soccer, NFL, MLB games all go all out on the create a player/team/what have you. MotoGP games need this too. I started out as a career mode player and this is still one of the most important aspects of the game to me. Even if I could create my own stuff chances are I would still play some careers as myself for an actual team. But I should still have the option. I spent hours messing with crazy shape decals on Climax 07 (insert Climax insult here) just to create a livery to my liking. So 09/10 should be even better than that. I should be able to completely customize my leathers, fairing decals and helmet. Hell if you can't do that or it costs too much money; is there anyway you could just transfer over Climax 07 customization ability. I mean seriously this is 2009 (soon to be /10) there is no reason to leave out customization like this (unless of course it has something to do with licensing in which case I'm furious with them and not you Monu).

  • 2) Stats - stats in career mode of 08 were virtually non existent. You couldn't even see the results of your previous race. In 09/10 I want to be able to look at all my races in my career from 125 all the way to 800cc, whenever I want, not just at the end of each season. These states should include starting grid position, final position, top speed, average speed, best lap and total time. If it is my 2nd year in career and I'm at Qatar I should be able to look at my data from last year.

  • 3) A.I. - Not so important for everyone else, but like I said I love career mode. When I started racing online I was so surprised at how much more I enjoyed racing and the game in general. Online you still have guys going the wrong way or getting on your inside during a turn for the sole purpose of running you wide and off track. But if you guys tried career with SIM, 10 laps, and legendary difficulty you would be running back to online! Legendary SIM is like racing against 18 riders that HATE YOU SPECIFICALLY! They don't care about you or any line you are riding. Too slow through the turn? F*** you! They'll drive right through you. It made for some controller throwing frustration for me. The AI in 09/10 don't have to be less aggressive but they should be just as concerned as I am about bumping into each other. Even the smallest of bumps in real life generally result in someone's race weekend being completely ruined. The AI in 09/10 should be just as worried as I am about bringing a ruined bike back to there mechanics!

  • 4) Presentation - I have to imagine after 08 that presentation is at the top of their list already. We're playing on Next-Gen consoles (some of us), that being said the menus and overall presentation of 08 might have gone unnoticed if this was 1997 and I was playing it on a PlayStation (1). We've got games out now that went wayyyy to far with their interactive menus and whatnot. I'm not saying I want that but I'd like to have some decent music and pretty menus. Menus with real life footage running in the background with music that gets you focused and in the zone. Not house music! Something ambient, I loved the menu music in Climax 07 (here we go again) that music got me focused (this doesn't work for everyone and its only my opinion). So yeah, better music, better presentation, some real action footage. All these things don't make for a better game but you know what they say... "presentation is everything!"

  • 5) Leader boards - and not just leader boards but leader boards for each category and for each difficulty. Even have a leader board for gog and all his people that race **** pit only. AND NO CHEATERS! On Climax 07 (I can't believe I mention it this much, its really not that good of a game MGP 08 is definitely better) when you went off course it calculated to the thousandth of a second how long you were off track and added it to your lap time. Or like in 08 with the Invalid Lap indicator. Well for the sake of leader boards, if you cut a corner it should just come up as invalid lap.

I might be able to come up with 5 more later hahaha
