For a country that has had their beautiful country demolished in one out of every ten films produced, they sure do love their life endangering monsters. The unstoppable Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G for the PSP has topped Famitsu's top 100 games sold for the halfway point of 2008. Facing some stiff opposition (mostly from Nintendo) and having only been released at the end of March, this is one seriously impressive feat.
Other Capcom titles in the top 100 include Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) at #13 and Mega Man Star Force 2 at the #100 slot. Monster Hunter also occupies #19 and #96 with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd and the greatest hits version of the original Monster Hunter Portable respectively. Funny enough, the former of those two is also the second best selling title for the PlayStation Portable.
For the rest of the top 100, hop on over to NeoGAF where the entire list has been assembled.
With world exclusive footage in tow, IGN's latest Mega Man 9 preview confirms one of the great questions of all time: will the return of classic Blue Bomber action grace the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
alongside the Nintendo Wii? The answer to that question is yes.
"Additionally, we've got some news to report. First, Capcom has
confirmed to IGN that Mega Man 1 and 2 will be coming to the Virtual
Console soon. And second, Mega Man 9 will also release for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network respectively. No, it's not a WiiWare exclusive, but nevertheless, it's going to make
an excellent addition to the libraries of all three consoles."
As for that exclusive footage? Totally awesome. What are you waiting for!?

What you're looking at is a screenshot taken directly from my iPhone of me playing Super Monkey Ball, which was uploaded using the Mobile Flickr app. The connectivity of it all is enough to make any nerds head spin with glee, as today the iPhone finally lived up to all the hype. Applications are here and with them, of course, are the games.
Pickings are slim at the moment, but if Sega's Super Monkey Ball is any indication, the productive world may just grind to screeching halt once PopCap unleashes the Peggle. This of course got me thinking. With Capcom's Digital team melting all types of faces as of late, which Capcom series would work on the iPhone? There are no buttons to speak of and so fast action titles like Devil May Cry probably wouldn't be the best idea. Here's what I came up with..
Ace Attorney Series: Well, of course! The Ace Attorney series of whodunits are essentially interactive graphic novels and the DS versions rely solely on touch controls. Sounds like a perfect match to me!
Buster Bros: It may be a bit tricky, but it's so simplistic that it could just work. The iPhone could be used both vertical and horizontally for different boards, touch a location to move and tap your character to shoot.
Breath of Fire: With Square Soft releasing their first iPod RPG, Song Summoner, iPhone users are practically begging for an RPG of their own. What better excuse is there to bring back this classic series? Mobile gaming on an iPhone is a lot like on a cell phone or other portable devices not called the Nintendo DS: they rely on short bursts of fun. RPG's tend to be time sinks that fight against this principal, so porting one of the original games is probably out of the question.
One Piece Mansion: Please tell me someone has played this! One PIece Mansion is an incredibly underrated puzzler that Capcom released on the PS One. You essentially moved around tenants in your apartment building on a grid, using a menu interface to do everything. The game alone is still amazingly fun to this day but touch controls would push it over the top!
"A while back I was asked to be a part of a special Street Fighter tribute book from Udon. It's a massive book full of various artist's take on the Street Fighter world to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series. I was honored to be asked to participate and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I'd draw. When it comes to the game, I tend to be a Ken man but in my opinion he's not that much fun to draw. I ended up settling on Zangief since I've always thought he was hilarious."
Mike's art has evolved greatly over the past few years, making for one of the most easily identifiable styles in comics. It can also be incredibly goofy at times, so pairing him up with the Red Cyclone feels like a perfect match. Pre-order confirmed? I think so.
