I was born in 1986 so by the time I was able to play mega man he was well established on the NES but my earliest memories of the blue bomber are of watching my older brother play. It makes me smile each time I remember how he would get so excited after beating a difficult part that he would throw his hands up in the air and celebrate. It wasn’t long after though that he passed the controller down to me and left his toys heading off to bigger things in collage. Sure there were a lot of grate titles on the NES and infact this is where my love for Zelda started too but the majority of my child hold memories can some how be tied back to videogames in one form or another. In fact a conversation about mega man is how I met my best friend from my home town. Mega man was always my favorite series and when it came time for me to make the though choice of what I should do for the rest of my life I came to only once conclusion. I want to help create the next gen of games so that others can be exposed to gaming like I was. I now have been going to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh or the last 3 years and am well on my way to reaching that goal. Over all its rly hard to explain my feelings for the mega man series and there affect on my life but with out them I don’t know if I would be on the career path I’m on today.
( i know its not mega man related but i just thought i would show ya somthign i just worked on i204.photobucket.com/albu... i love making this stuff )
This wouldn’t be complete with out a pick of all my mega man stuff would it? The odd thing in the upper right is a art project I did in middle school.
Speaking of old stuff I did in school this was my final art project in high school. ( I’m bad at painting ) you can tell i painted link second and had to rush to get it finsihed.
my two fav games coliding. . . perhaps in the next smashbrothers . . .
this is the back
When Mega Man Maverick Hunter X was announced for the PSP I organized a flash project to make a video based off the first part of the mega man x instruction booklet. The video was going to show our interpretation of how dr. Cane discovered X up to the intro stage of mega man x. the Idea was to do make something awesome and perhaps generate more attention toward the game but sadly the project never got past storyboards and concept art.
here is some of the stuff I had put together for it. ( and a pice of classic mega man art thrown in too )
When I herd about mega man 9 it was only a roomer and I just smiled “thought ya that would be the day.. . . only if”. But to my amazement that day came and the game is amazing! It everything we as retro gamers and lovers of megaman could have asked for. its truly a work of love and art by none other than the majority of the team that worked on the old games! When in history are we going to have a 8mit game made by the people who made the old 8bit games?!?!? Mega man9 is a tribune to the games I grew up on and if I was not only able to get a press kit but a signed shirt by Inafune-san himself they would be my prized possessions!
thank you
