Who thinks Okami would work on the Nintendo DS? Would you even want it to happen or rather leave it on the bigger systems? What kind of gameplay elements would you like to see using the stylus?

Someone made this picture a while ago, but it would be quite awesome.
2D Okami on the DS? Yes please! If Capcom won't give us fans a full fledged Wii sequel, a 2D prequel (or something like that) would be just as awesome! |

A few friends and I thought of this concept way back and I would love to see it go on the portable handheld and use the stylus to draw out Celestial moves! A great game it would be!

Hah that image is great. I can see it now! This game was truly a pleasure to get familiar with ( I held off on it for a while) but once I got into it I coudln't stop. I spend most of my time on the NiN DS (Besides SFIV on PS3) and thought an Okami DS game would be excellent way to reach the fan base. I mean c'mon! You got the stylus to draw and use obviously!

As nice as that sounds, I'd have to say no. Half the fun of Okami was the artwork, and I can't imagine a DS game living up to that. Unless they could tackle the ridiculous task of making the switch to 2D without losing the feel of the original, I'm content with my memories. As has been stated, the touch screen would be phenomenal for celestial brush techniques, though. Maybe next handheld gen will have one too, so I can agree with you. Also, that picture is pretty cool.
RIP King of the Hill ;_;

Gameplay wise it would be better on the DS than on the Wii. The graphics would depend on how much effort and thought Capcom is willing to put into it. I'd like to see it happen. |
