About:

Okamiden is the spiritual successor to Okami for the Nintendo DS. Restore color to a darkened, magical world with the help of partners in this artistic action adventure coming to North America and Europe in 2011. Okami is an action-adventure video game developed by Clover Studio and distributed by Capcom. It was released for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console in 2006 in Japan and North America, and 2007 in Europe and Australia. Despite the closure of Clover Studios a few months after the 2006 PlayStation 2 release, a port for Nintendo's Wii console was produced by Ready at Dawn and Capcom.

I would alos extremely love a physical edition of this game, because it's an outstanding masterpiece on an outstanding console! The biggest reason to me is preserve the games for the future: Look for example on the Wii'S Virtual Console: Soon you won't be able to redownload or buy digital games there, and I guess that in the future, it also won't be the case for switch, ps3,ps4, x360 XBONE etc. The only digital marketplace which will be forever is steam it seems.

But with that, I can't take the use and advantages of a Nintendo Switch Console. So please: Release at least a physical edition of the game in Japan with multilanguage support, like you did with the ps3 version of the game! Thank you! :) Good day!

Oh, and how about this capcom?: Could maybe do a limited edition for the mega man legacy collection, in which both collections are on seperate cartridges? (Like it was in the Bayonetta SE in Japan!) That would be awesome! This collection deserves it also to be preserved for the unkown futer! :)

As far as the Nintendo Switch is concerned, Capcom's HD republication of the 1st Okami game has been demoted to a digital-exclusive for every region. They [Capcom] disappointingly did the same thing to Biohazard/Resident Evil Code: Veronica X on PlayStation 4.

To be fair, translating an originally disc-based game to cartridge format requires a bigger budget than vice versa. This reality is even more pronounced in the context of home-based systems than on-the-go systems:

  • The 1st Biohazard/Resident Evil game was originally a disc-based game on PlayStation 1 but one of it's republications was cartridge-based

    • Biohazard/Resident Evil: Deadly Silence on Nintendo DS

  • The 1st Biohazard/Resident Evil: Revelations game was originally a cartridge-based game on 3DS but it now has disc-based options on the following systems

    • PlayStation 3, WiiU, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, & Xbox One

  • The 1st Okami game was originally a disc-based game on PlayStation 2

  • Nintendo Switch is technically a 'both in 1' platform but it's developers have admitted that said system prioritizes home-based gaming

Is a Switch cartridge-based option a bad idea for the 1st Okami game's HD republication? No but there's a worthwhile deal of things to factor in.
