I have the Wii version right now, and when I'm in a battle I just find it hard to combo. I remember playing the PS2 demo version long ago, but I don't recall the combo being tough like it is with the waggle. I guess I just wish they made it a button instead of waggling.
I'm in the Moon Cave right now, awesome game overall, just don't like the waggle being the attack. Also, I love fishing! It's so much fun, I hope Monster Hunter 3 incorporates the fishing style like Okami has; pull, pull, pull, waggle. That part I can get along with. |

if u didn't like the waggle, wait till u are on one of those floating flower petals and u accidentally waggle ur mote.....ammy will headbutt the air and sometimes fall off the petal. one of the annoying quirks of the wii version but thankfully it doesn't happen often, i would say the controls are pretty alright |

Yes, very. But then I decided to just use beads as the main weapon and, despite taking longer fights to kill big enemies, had no other problems with the game. And try getting really good at the brush, 'cause it's is awesome when you're able to over-use it reallt fast. |

Don't waggle. Okami is made better than that. Time your hits. When the shield returns make a firm slash. It's all timing. Up;grading your combos at the dojo will make life better and if you still have a problem, switch to a bead based primary weapon. |

I agree with Atomix. What you need to do when playing Okami, is refining your imput process on the Wii-mote, not just waggling to hit, but do timed thrusts of the Wiimote. It seems to play a lot better the less you use sporadic movements to get Ammy to hit things. After playing it for 20+ your going to be fully refined and not putting in wrong information for Ammy. It takes practice. But, I am finding out that the jump dodge technique for Ammy seems to be a waste of time. This is the one that you bind to your nunchuck and then swing in the proper direction to dodge. Unfortunately, Ammy never goes where I am swinging, so I would of loved to have this feature worked out before the game shipped. Is anyone else having this problem? |

to me, the wiimote function wasnt refined when they ported it. getting Ammy to attack is a hit or miss thing. it is especially annoying during boss fights since you usually only have certain opportunities to get a hit in.

I found it difficult at first, but when I switched hands it became easier. |

I only ever got the rhythm right on the scarecrow dummy after upgrading. Forgot after that! Oh well. |

I could never get her to dodge the way I wanted. I ended up switching my main weapon to the beads since I could combo by swinging wildly with hardly any consistency. I loved the Glaives but could never get more than one hit at time with them as my main weapon (which sucks because I seriously loved the way they looked). I ended up going through the game with beads as my main and glaives as my secondary. Awesome game, I never thought Orochi as only the beginning of the game, I seriously thought it would end right there, 30 hours later - boy was I ever wrong! |
