This is a small project I'm going to have done today.  Its just for peopel who are not familiar with okami to get introduced to the game and maybe even buy it because of this thread.

Hey, I was wondering if you could inform me of some of the good reasons to purchase this game and which version to buy it for, the ps2 or the wii?

  1. The art style
  2. A fun though somewhat repetitive battle system
  3. Interesting story that takes parts from many Japanese legends and ties them together
  4. The inventive and easy-to-use paintbrush ability system
  5. The art style
  6. Awesome and unique bosses, each based on a Japanese myth, and each with an interesting brush-related way to defeat them
  7. Lots of extras and different things to do.
  8. Long game length in general.  If you're anything like me, you hate it when you pay $50 for a game you can complete in a day.  Even if you do the bare minimum and try to cruise through, this game should last you a week or two.
  9. Many diverse and beautiful maps filled with hidden areas and places to use your brush techniques.
  10. Unique dojo techniques that make fighting, even without brush techniques more fun, and that include, but are not limited to, Golden Fury/Brown Rage.
  11. Just look at the gorgeous freaking visuals.  Seriously.

If you want more in-depth info just go to GameFAQs and look up one of the longer reviews.

Buy it for PS2.  Not only does the PS2 version look more like the watercolor painting the game was clearly supposed to resemble, the PS2 controller works much better than the wiimote in this case.

Anyway, I like the idea of this topic.  It's a shame that there aren't more copies of this game left.  People who read this topic might have a hard time tracking one down, even if they are talked into wanting it.
