Oh my! I've fallen far behind on my journals in comparison to my current MHFU advancements... Time to catch up I dare say!
^-^~
After I hit HR3 the Village five star quests were available to purvey. Amongst another! Tigrex slaying quest (<.<) were some double monster slaying quests. This was somewhat problematic because although I knew I could survive these fights! It might take me much to long with my current weapons to slay two monsters in 50 mins. Comparatively to my previous damage output of course. So I pondered...
^-^~ I decided that I would begin investing time in elemental weapons for monster specific kills. Up until that point pure damage seemed to outweigh the elemental options but the breadth of weapon was increasing. A quest that caught my eye was "Two roars in the snow" which was a hunt featuring two Blangongas. I knew a strong fire weapon was in order and the Rathalos long sword would fit my forte! so i set out.
A liberal use of Flash Bombs will turn many elements of a Rathalos fight In your favour. I began my gathering of Rathalos materials will little trouble.
In short order I had one dead Rathalos. Having killed a few previously I had the attack pattern down already and was properly prepared. Here's when things got tricky though...
I had the sword! Wyvern Blade "Fall". I was pleased that this long sword was surprisingly sleeker looking then the small weaponsmith preview. I wasn't pleased with the stats. Judgin by the stats the improved version "Blood" seemed nearly twice as useful. It only really required more Rathalos materials as well.
I saw this at least 5 times. Maybe six. "Blood" required Rathalos webbing or some such material that was a good deal less common then scales and shells. So I put my nose to the whetstone! (>.>) and before I knew it (that is in about two hours+)...
...I had a fairly high attack, moderate sharpness, and swimming fire element! long sword, I immediately went to test it out on this pesky Blangongas.
Success! With less trouble then I anticipated they were both down. Faster even per kill then I had been able to do previously.
I was so pleased I took a /bow. Which is very poorly seen above. The fire element really did the trick! I was now an elemental attack fan!
^-^~
~^-^ To further delve! @_@! The Gyperos are weak to fire and vulnerable to long sword attack pattern. Clearing this five star village quest was so sadly easy with Wyvern Blade "Blood". Having such elemental success! segwayed into me then looking for different weapons I could develop for specific purposes. One that caught my eye was a hornetaur styled lance that had a very nice paralyze attribute.
It required a Gendrome skull though. Something I didn't have. So i knuckled down! (Weather Man) and farmed three star level Gendromes repeatedly for about an hour+ till i received a skull.
I tested the Dark Spear made with effort! out on a Blangonga for a good comparison of time vs. my longsword and considering! how low the stats are starting off, it did very well. Dark, its next improvement, looked even tastier but was definitely out of reach.
Around this time I had noticed I hath passed 100 hours! I thought this deserving of note and good encouragement to press onward!
@_@!
BUT! instead of pressing forward quest-wise I noticed the high defense of Rathalos armor and its inherently high attack skill. I became enamoured with it shortly! and decided that I could farm it without much annoyance. I would need Ice weapons though and good things! I already had enough to make the Blango Destroyer. Which i then promptly upgraded to the Blango Decimator!
Having a good ice long sword I had at more Rathalos. Killing them was only a challenge as I became more and more careless. Even then, not so hard. XD Above are the Freezing daggers, a dual blade ice weapon, which I also used in pursuit of the armor. They stood up about as well as the Blango Decimator with a poorer mod level. I was impressed.
~~^-^
And! the Rathalos armor. I was diggin its look.
I was diggin its skills as well! The large attack up was significantly better then my Monoblos set. The defense was a little higher as well. XD Detect isnt amazing by any means and the Para Duration increase is lowered by a +1 paralyzation jewel. On an added note... this armor has recover speed +1 as well with a couple of jewels to needed to activate it. Though you need a few weapon slots to pull off that as well as offsetting the para duration. Not a big deal either way.
I also had enough Blangonga materials to make the Gunner armor. Just for collecting purposes and maybe some low rank Snowy Mountain quests. Who knows? XD
Finishing up! Having done these numerous quests and going over 100 hours! I changed my title to Grand Replay!
I also had five fondness on all three of my active Felyne Comrades. This was indeed agreeable and worth noting! Finally....
XD A long post over! Im not that much closer to being caught up with my screenshots either. SO! More killing to come!

New weapons and tactics on the horizon. Some elder blood spilled shortly as well.
Wonderful.
