North American Street Fighter 4 Collector's Edition Detailed
Nearly the same as the Euro CE, except for platform-exclusive figurines and a soundtrack.
By Kris Pigna, 12/09/2008
GameStop has revealed the details for the North American Collector's Edition of Street Fighter 4 (via Kotaku). And in what may not come entirely as a surprise, the main difference between it and the CE announced for Europe last week is they managed to make ours a little more annoying.
Priced at $79.99, the North American CE comes with everything Europe's version does: the new 65-minute Street Fighter 4 anime movie (it's a Blu-ray with the PlayStation 3 version), five downloadable costumes, a comic book-styled hint guide, and collectable figurines of two of the game's characters. So what's the difference in our version? For some inexplicable reason, the figurines are now split between platforms -- PS3 gamers can only get Ryu, and Xbox 360 gamers can only get newcomer Crimson Viper. Then again, GameStop does mention a CD soundtrack will also be included, which wasn't mentioned for the European version, so at least we've got that going for us.
Oh well -- we'll probably still spring for the useless collectible figurines anyway. Street Fighter 4 is due in stores on February 17.

Street Fighter 4 Collector's Edition Detailed for Europe
CE includes HD film, exclusive DLC, and two character figurines.
By Steve Watts, 12/05/2008
Like any modern AAA title, the console versions of Street Fighter 4 are getting their own Collector's Edition packed with bonuses. Though this set is confirmed only for Europe so far, the U.S. is likely to get a package that's at least similar. CE versions are a dime a dozen these days, but this particular one seems to be giving some pretty cool bonuses, including a mini-strategy guide and exclusive downloadable content. It will also include a full-length HD anime movie, which is likely the one we heard about a couple of months ago. At the time Capcom said it would be tied to the release of the game in some way, so now that statement is more clear. Finally, the CE will pack in two limited edition figures of Ryu and Crimson Viper.
The one thing missing from Capcom's announcement is a price. Collector's Editions tend to run $10 over the regular retail price, at about $69.99 in most cases. But between the movie, figures, and downloadable content, Capcom may up the price if the set is released in the U.S. We'll keep you posted as we learn more about what the DLC is, and what Capcom's plans are for a domestic Collector's Edition.
