Mega Man X Official Complete Works For Preorder On Amazon

    Thursday, May 14, 2009, 05:50 PM [General]

Amazon have begun taking preorders for the Mega Man X Official Complete Works art book, set to ship December 14th, 2009 - a mere two months after MMOCW's release (Oct. 14th).

Retailing for $39.99 ($26.57 through Amazon savings), the 144 page book will contain an array of artwork and conceptual designs from the X series:

"With a dozen games of his own, Mega Man X's popularity comes close to rivalling even the classic Mega Man series. The original blue bomber's futuristic counterpart has won over fans with his unique gameplay and dynamic designs, and now the artwork of this fan-favorite series is collected for the first time. Mega Man X: Official Complete Works features character designs, box art, promo art and many rarely seen art pieces. Zero, Sigma, Axl, and all of X's unique robotic animal bosses are packed into this gorgeous collection. A must have for all Mega Man fans!"

    Are you stoked?

Rockman X2 Re-released Onto Japanese Mobile Phones

    Thursday, May 14, 2009, 05:49 PM [General]

Gpara reports that the mobile phone version of Rockman X2 saw yet another re-release in Japan today, this time for SoftBank and EZ Web services.

Based on the screenshots, the title looks largely unchanged from its home console counterpart other than the expected reduction in aspect ratio. If you so happen to have the means of obtaining the game, you can do so for a measly 315 Yen (plus tax).

I wonder, will mobile phone services outside of Japan ever get some X series love? We've got plenty of classic series ports, it's high time we got something.

Original Rush Painting Up For Bidding

    Thursday, May 7, 2009, 02:03 PM [General]

eBay, home of everything you could ever want and not, has a true one of a kind Mega Man item up on the auction block; an original airbrush painting of Rush used in MM package design:

"This is an auction for a Rush the Robotic Dog Original Airbrush Painting. Rush is a character in the Mega Man video game, this art was used in the video game packaging. I am the original artist. I did this a few years ago, but I don't remember exactly which game or platform it was used for. I believe it was done in the early 1990s. It is an airbrush painting on gessoed plexiglas, 20" x 11". "

After looking over my own personal collection, I too am a bit bewildered as to what game this art belonged to. Are we looking at unused promotional artwork?

Regardless, this is a very awesome auction that no MM collector should pass up. Bidding begins at $0.99 with $13.00 shipping. Best of luck!
