So yeah... i have probably mentioned this before but on Wednsday night i go to a buddy of mine's school (UMBC in MD) and play games with some very good fighting game players. The games of choice as of late are usually Guilty Gear (in whatever version they like best), Super Smash Bros. , Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Super Street Fighter 2 HDremix and Tekken 6. Yeah once Tekken 6 came out pretty much no one wants to play SFIV....which is just my luck since i was finally geting confident in my skills in playing it...go figure.
This past Wednsday there were several free tournaments held. One for each of the afformentioned games that appear in the previous paragraph..except for Smash Bros., becuase not too many people were playing that. I entered in the Marvel, Tekken, and SSFHDR tourneys and was defeated in the first round of each. Which is sadly par for the course...i have never said i was good at these games i just happen to enjoy playing them..that being said...i had my butt handed to me thouroughly in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 tourney by a guy who would later win the tourney...(those infinite combos are no joke!) but since i "knew" the guy and already knew that was his plan from the start it didn't hurt so bad to get udderly destroyed in a match...
The thing that drives me nuts is that i am getting my hind parts handed to me in Tekken 6 (espcially online)...that's not particularly fun...i would like to blame it on all on lag but I ain't so hot in head to head matches either. My curent standing on XBL is some thing like 190 wins and 208 that's nearly 20 matches below .500 (winning percentage)! That is just plain sad...even though i claim that i just play "just for the love of the game" but losing to Hwangs (it's probably still not spelled correctly and i still don't care) and Baeks is not fun. Espicially since my main is King who specializes in kick reversals (for the love all that's holy BLOCK LOW!)
I guess i am gonna have to put more effort into playing offline more and talk to my Tekken Sensei about improving my game. It flat out stinks!
Oh yeah... Apparently Capcom knows how to keep players in the game by adding extra content! I was on the XBL last night and couldn't help but notice that they just put up a new trailer for the new Resident Evil 5 episode named "Nightmare Something or Another" (sorry i do these blogs on the spur of the moment so very little polish go into them...no one's forcing you to read them!) This looks very interesting and i am pretty confident that i will be getting this new content as soon as it come out (afterall i am a dork for these things!) but i am trying to decide wether i should just download the content onto my already bulging Hard Drive (i only have about 60GB of a 120GB harddrive left for my 360) or should i trade in the original and buy the Gold Edition....what to do what to do...
