    Uh... more goodies, heh.

Totally forgot these were coming in, because I ordered them online a while ago... but here it is, the Rockman 9 Soundtrack, and a Wendy Oldbag... bag! The bag is something we use for grocery shopping here, since you have to pay money for the plastic bags. Having a reusable tote bag like this is essential on saving money when grocery shopping.

Here is the front cover of the Rockman 9 CD... plus some pages of the booklet inside.

When you purchase CDs in Japan, or in Asia in general, you usually get an "obi" that wraps around the outside of the CD. Most of them are pretty standard and just has the information about the CD, like the album name, artist name and ID# that they use. The Rockman 9 is also like this, but on the inside... there's a cute little surprise!

    Cute, ain't it?

    This week's goodies

    Thursday, October 2, 2008, 10:30 AM [Swag]

    I picked up...

This week's issue of Arcadia magazine. I mainly got it for the Virtua Fighter 5R section, which is pretty beefy this month, although last month's monsterous 16 page feature was bigger. This week it covers some new techniques related to throw escapes as well as some other character specific info. The section for SFIV is pretty good too with a good two or three paragraphs dedicated to each character along with combos. Also had a nice KOFXII feature.

The official Mega Man 9 energy drink! It tastes pretty yummy... kind of like Pocari Sweat. Really good stuff! And awesome packaging too!

The official Street Fighter IV Master Guide. I don't really play the game competitively because playing VF5R and Soulcalibur IV more than enough for competition, but I really like SFIV so I like keeping tabs on it all the time. Plus, like I said before, my friends play it so I play it too. It's got frame data, character endings, combos and strategies. It's a pretty good book considering the price (1500 yen)

This is a snapshot of the Saving Attack section in the system portion of the guide. It details pretty much everything you need to know about saving attacks!

This is El Fuerte's move analysis section. You can see how every move animates, so even if you don't play the characters, you can begin to recognize moves before they come. The frame data section is nice, but man... totally calculus-like, haha.

Didn't get to play any games tonight but I'm heading out to a random game center with a Japanese friend of mine to play some 5R, but the arcade we're going to is also a pretty big SFIV scene so I'll probably get in some games of that when I decide I'm getting owned too much in VF, haha.

    Introducing... me.

    Wednesday, October 1, 2008, 09:41 PM [General]

I guess I should make an introductory post before I blog about anything else, eh.

Uh... I live in Osaka and I have been in Japan for about four and a half years. I like Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter and Soulcalibur. I play two of the three competitively... can you guess which ones? :P Well, truth be told I love playing Street Fighter but I don't play it competitively. I guess I'm okay at the game, but I find myself much better at Virtua Fighter and Soulcalibur (SCII) so I tend to stick to those games. But since a lot of my friends prefer Street Fighter, I take the time to learn a character or two in each game so that I don't embarrass myself when we play, haha.

I tend to blog more on LJ and on mixi but I figure that blogging about games can be boring for some so I figured I might as well use this space for games, since most of the time I talk about fighting games. I figure blogging here, I can talk more technically about fighting games without boring the heck out of people. :P

    That's it! Yay.
