Yeah. I'm sure everyone's done their reviews, but this isn't one; SFVI is amazing. There's my review. If you haven't bought it, and even remotely like fighting games, pick it up.
Anyhow, this is my impression; just things I want to comment about while I've been playing the game. I apologize in advance if I offend anybody; I'm not good at being tact.
First, the positives.
~C. Viper: I really like the idea for this character. (I suck with her, but I like her varied move-set.) I think the costume is...interesting, but the part I like best about her is the "soccer-mom" feel. I make this assumption, though, because of the "Hi Sweetie!...Really? That's great!" Win pose. Still trying to figure out how those glasses work though.
~Rufus: Oh man, Rufus. I really thought that he was going to be another Dan-esque character after I saw his character art and description. I had hilarious ideas of him throwing the popcorn bucket as his projectile move, rolling, etc. Oh well. I think it's a bold move to include the American stereo-type into this game, but I feel strange. I mean, I'm not exactly the most...er...controlled person in the world eating wise, and I'm Scottish (which is what I percieve his accent is.) I should be writing CAPCOM an angry letter right now. But I'm not. I love him; again, I suck with him, but his style isn't right for me...I think.
~The style: I had heard that it looked great, and the pictures in GI looked really good, but they were right when they said that this game looks great. I really like the ink splashes, and I REALLY love the "VS" image on the Fisticuffs screen.
~The Airplane Stage.
Alas, there must be be negaitves...
~The Stages: Why were the character stages scrapped? That could've been really cool, especially after seeing the mock-up Guile stage. Why did we get super-generic stages? Please don't tell me that we will have to buy those stages...
~The Music, specifically during the fight: The announcer is a really cool idea, but I want music! Some remixes of the character's music are in the credits; why aren't they in the actual levels?
~Blanka
~The lack of variable character intros
~THE SMALL TEXT. Why do we need to have this small text? Can't there at least be an option for some SDTV size font or HDTV sized? Man.
Also, does anyone know if the sticks are worth getting for someone who only plays casually? I know it's "needed" for "superior" control...but...honestly?
