Capcom's Sven: "Nothing More Difficult" than New IP Launch

Gamesindustry.biz has posted the second part of an interview our fearless VP of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Christian Svensson (aka Sven).

In addition to talking over the challenges of launching a new game (there's a reason you see so many sequels in games!), he talks some more about East/West challenges, and the increasingly digital future. Whatcha' doing this Weekend? Street Fightin!

In a surprise to nobody, I'll be playing me some SFIV this weekend. Wes and I are headed south to sunny Sunnyvale CA this weekend for the long-running NorCal Regionals. I'm going to see some old friends, some hot SFIV action, and of course to have my skull cracked. I'll be tagging in on the event's live stream as well, so be sure to mute your speakers to avoid being lulled gently to sleep.

I posted about this before, but I'm posting again mostly because I find their poster extremely cool, and it wasn't done in time for the last post. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by, or better yet, sign up and play.

If you're not in the SF Bay Area, there are also other great events around the US and the world all the time--you can find a good listing here.

Omg! Omg! I just noticed the billboard on the car bonus stage! I can see Mike Haggar on that billboard!

For sure. I'm still debating on whether or not I should receive the sword though.

Seeing as how I only entered the contest for fun and to have a little rivalry filled contest with a friend of mine. It just bothers me a little that there were people so quick to anger. I mean, if it makes them feel better, I could totally say to give the sword to another. It's not that much of a problem.

Hell, I can even relinquish my place if it makes people feel better. I just don't want people to see me as this person who takes advantage of others for free stuff. Because it is true, I only JUST joined the site a few days ago. But, a lot of people are taking it the wrong way, even though I did want to join the site strictly for what Capcom is to me. Not what I can get from them.

GAH. Sorry. I ranted. xD
