1UP’s “The Life and Times of Capcom”

Sep 17, 2009 // s-kill

This is a nice piece of Capcom history from friend of Unity and 1UP contributor Nadia Oxford.

It’s a great overview of the company’s gaming past, full of interesting tidbits and even Kramer stops in to drop some knowledge about our “Family Affair.”

“Capcom is, at this point, one of the last family-owned videogame companies on the planet. Although we are publicly traded in Japan, the majority of stock is held by Kenzo Tsujimoto, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Capcom, and his family.

“Mr. Tsujimoto remains highly involved in the company to this day, as do his sons, including Haruhiro Tsujimoto, President of Capcom, and Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of the Monster Hunter series. There is also a very ‘family first’ feel to Capcom, which actively encourages and nurtures both the creative and business aspects of its employees.”

Good stuff, check it out here.
