"One Weekend, Six Tournaments, 60,000 Matches" The mother of all fighting game tournaments is back, and EVO's got a new location (Caesar's Palace), but most importantly... new games!
Super Street Fighter IV is no surprise and SF HD Remix is returning, but I was very happy that Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars will also be joining the lineup. Of course I get to vote on which games are worthy to be included at EVO each year, but I was very happy to see the game get the nod from the rest of the EVO crew--it certainly deserves it, but they're probably the toughest audience in the world for fighters.
TvC has everything that makes me love the "Versus" series--easy to pick up compared to a traditional Street Fighter, but the same nearly endless gameplay possibilities that have kept Marvel Vs Capom 2 matches exciting for more than a decade!
There are lots of other surprises at this year's EVO as well, including a voting category to decide the final game, some surprise guests and exclusives, but let's not forget what's always at the heart of what makes EVO the most exciting fighting game party of the year: THE HYPE!!!
