Did you miss us over the holiday? I know we missed you.
And in case you missed the Bionic Commando news, here's a healthy slab of it to hold you over until we have recovered from the pre-, post-, and everything in between New Year's festivities.
Check it out, but more importantly, get ready. When you master the bionic arm, Bionic Commando gives you more versatility to be wherever you want to be (and fast!) than any game I've ever played. The possibilities are truly limitless, and apart from the obvious multiplayer hijinks, I can't wait to see what people are going to do with the speed runs on this game...
Gametrailers has a couple of great videos showing off just a few of the possibilities in Bionic Commando multiplayer. I've embedded one above, and you can find another nice one here.
Remember, these look like good players, but they've only just learned to play a few minutes before. We don't see the "Death from Above" technique, zipkicks, or even melee, but hopefully you can already imagine the kind of high-flying magic we'll see once people really get a chance to sink their teeth into this game...
A few weeks back the 1UP kids stopped by to play some Bionic Commando multiplayer. Although some of them seemed to get good depressingly quickly, we had a blast, and they used the footage to kick off the season premier of the venerable 1UP Show (what a theme song!). You'll hear their reflections on weapons, levels, cheap tricks, and above all else, the amazing mobility and sense of freedom.
BC multiplayer madness starts around 3:50, and remember, the green guy who totally looks slick and deadly is me, and all footage of someone getting owned, missing a jump, or getting zip-kicked off the edge is Shawn (who may deny having even been in the state).
In a new interview with videogamer.com, Ben Judd is taking no prisoners. He gripes about how games today aren't hard enough, explains the relationship between Bionic Commando: Rearmed and the next-gen Bionic Commando game, calls out other devs as "lazy",and more!
I got hit with an EA pop-up ad so annoying that I actually hesitate to link the interview, but it IS pretty spicy, so here you go...
