MTV's Multiplayer Blog stopped by while we were visiting NYC last week to sit down with Dark Void.
While producers Morgan and Shana are both still hard at work tweaking all the little things that turn it up to 11, the piece gives a nice sense of the real freedom you have when you're tackling situations in the game. Fly? Hover? Hijack a UFO? Blast your way through on foot? Try vertical cover? Some combination of all of them? It's up to you.
In fact, it's Dark Void week over at Alienware.com. As any PC gamer knows, Alienware makes some of the sweetest rigs imaginable. Not only will DV be a truly stunning experience on PC, there will also be some special Dark Void surprises coming for Alienware machines, so stay tuned...
In the wake of Capcom's Captivate 09, NowGamer sat down with Dark Void producer Morgan Gray.
They talk game difficulty, east-west growing pains, and how all the major flying elements work into the overall design.
Gray: You could play this entire game and never once hijack a UFO. We give you the objectives and the goals and give you as much freedom as we can to figure your own path.
By now I'm sure you've seen the hot new Dark Void teaser trailer, but what you might not have seen was the unreleased Japanese cut of the trailer, featuring a young (and more... Japanese) Will's early forays into jetpack technology.
