That's right, the 3rd and final Spyborgs webisode has arrived. Questions answered include: Where IS Kinetic's processing core anyway? Is the arrogant jerk with the haughty accent really the villain? All will be revealed in Webisode 3: the Betrayal!
The full story (and plenty of bot-smashy goodness) is of course in the game, which lands next Tuesday, September 22nd (or buy it now).
Finally, I promise this is the last time I'll say "webisode" this week:
Not content to let Niitsuma-san dominate the TvC blogging scene, this new blog brings a smiley-filled "what's up!" from my bff, game director Hidetoshi Ishizawa. This guy is kind of like the mechanic who's in the lab with grease all over his face, trying to get the giant Tatsunoko Vs Capcom robot to come to life. He's also the recipient of a lot of BS from me, so be nice to him :)
Ishizawa-san talks about the amusing situation of TvC: Ultimate All-Stars, which was originally only headed for the Western markets that never got "Cross-Generation of Heroes." The good news for the team was that fans in Japan got so jealous about all the juice they were adding to TvC: UAS, they rallied to get it released in Japan as well.
To those who are new to this title, "how do you do!", To fans who love fighting games, "long time no see!", and to those who have been playing "Cross Generation of Heroes", thanks for your continued support!
My name is Hidetoshi Ishizawa a.k.a. Neo_G, director of "Tatsunoko vs Capcom Ultimate All-Stars".
Based on Producer Niitsuma's blog, I've basically copied his format :p and here I am writing one.
This time everybody in the project will have to take part in the blog, so you will see me writing blogs more often.
Anyway, the Japanese release of "Ultimate All-Stars" is now confirmed! The concept of "Ultimate All-Stars" was to bring "Cross Generation of Heroes" to the western territories, therefore the Japanese version of the game wasn't in the plan at first.
R&D was scheduled for making character names, gameplay features, and all those naming etc. in English, but having in mind that there might be possibility or even hope? of selling the game in Japan... as well as that, we need to make it in Japanese first anyway so that we can check everything ourselves before the game gets localized. So yes, R&D had plans... :D
So that was some little info from me about how we got to release the game, please look forward to more stories from Niitsuma-san going forward.
As you know, Tokyo Game Show 2009 is next week.
As it says on the Official Capcom Homepage, the game won't be playable at the booth, but there will be a stage presentation!!
At TGS, there will be some new info reveals from Niitsuma-san, and I will be doing something on the stage as well. It's been a long time since I last was on a stage, so I'm a little nervous :p
That's all from me, so till next time...
As a matter of fact, we are in the last check before master submission. R&D is doing their best, so please look forward to the game!!
This is a nice piece of Capcom history from friend of Unity and 1UP contributor Nadia Oxford.
It's a great overview of the company's gaming past, full of interesting tidbits and even Kramer stops in to drop some knowledge about our "Family Affair."
"Capcom is, at this point, one of the last family-owned videogame companies on the planet. Although we are publicly traded in Japan, the majority of stock is held by Kenzo Tsujimoto, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Capcom, and his family.
"Mr. Tsujimoto remains highly involved in the company to this day, as do his sons, including Haruhiro Tsujimoto, President of Capcom, and Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of the Monster Hunter series. There is also a very 'family first' feel to Capcom, which actively encourages and nurtures both the creative and business aspects of its employees."
Great run-through on what to expect from next week's release of Spyborgs, courtesy of G4's X-Play and 'Borgs producer Daryl Allison.
There's face-bashing, boss-fighting, totally different styles of playable characters (and you can switch between them on the fly, mid-level), and of course combos galore. Spyborgs lands in stores everywhere next Tuesday, Septmeber 22nd, or pick it up right now.
While my Spanish es terriblo (see? that's not even a word!), my appreciation for the passion of South and Latin American fighting fans is very strong.
Mexican magazine Atomix in particular has always been a great supporter of Street Fighter IV and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, and in keeping with that tradition, TvC's Ryu and Ken the Eagle grace the cover of their final issue.
