Gametrailers caught up with Unity's own Lost Planet expert and superfan Shawn last week at E3.
The subject was of course Lost Planet 2, with Shawn offering up a bunch of interesting details about the 4-person co-op and what teamwork will look like on EDN III.
The co-op abilities are pretty amazing. You're not just shooting together, or maybe trying some flanking move, you can really do a lot of interesting stuff--anyone can act as medic (even at a distance, and the best medics have great aim!), or you can use support fire to "tank" another player, buffing their weapons and health for a tough fight, etc. The multiplayer options are going to be similarly nuts, so get ready.
Also please feel free to rate how good Shawn's hair looks in the comments.
There aren't a lot of details the Lost Planet faithful don't already know, but I really liked this because it's right on for anyone that already thinks they know Lost Planet, and is kind of in the "meh" zone for Lost Planet 2. By the end of the piece, you can almost hear Brian going "Umm... wow? Is this the game I thought I knew?"
"I Want To Be Inside You: There are plenty of things that sell Lost Planet 2: The new lush environment, the cool character customization, the wide variety of weapons and four-player coop. But when I finally sat down to play the game the only thing I wanted to do was crawl inside the giant lizards mouth and start blowing apart its intestines."
This game is kind of amazing. Don't miss out on one of this year's most epic games just because you think you already have a pretty good idea what this whole Lost Planet thing is about--LP2 is a total jaw-dropper.
Team Capcom stopped by the G4 installation at last week's e3 to take names and slay some giant salamander.
Frank was in the spotlight, with Arya, the totally stone-faced Shawn, Kramer, and me trying to impress Olivia Munn by playing next to the stage. People say she wasn't looking, but I think she was secretly impressed.
Or at least she was impressed until Arya got swallowed by the salamander, then got crapped out, and drowned. Not cool, man.
Frank drops a ton of details in this piece, and you can really see the game in action like never before. If you weren't already glued to the set last week, check this out now.
Geoff Keighley will be joined by babes and some scared-looking industry types for a little sneak peak at some of E3's biggest games. One of the featured titles will be our very own Lost Planet 2, so be sure to check it out.

GamesRadar's coverage of their trip to the Capcom's secret Lost Planet 2 base continues, with a new exclusive hands-on play report.
Here's a nugget from their encounter with the giant known only as "the salamander":
"All are sound possibilities, but none are as impressive climbing inside, struggling against its internal juices and firing off a few rounds into its glowing heart. Eventually through, you’re going to be expunged, and you’ll have no choice but to allow its digestive track to force you out of its [butt]. We would describe the [butt] in more detail, but… just wow. You’ll want to see it for yourself."
