New interview with Mega Ran

Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 12:57 PM [Mega Man]

You might remember Unity favorite Mega Ran from his latest Mega Man-inspired tracks, or from his recent appearance on our Comic-Con stream, but if you don't know him, you really should.

A good place to start would be this new interview with him, which includes some inspiration, his interesting personal background, and of course some mp3s of recent tracks (the awesomeness of which is why he's getting interviewed in the first place!).

CHH: Do you consider yourself a Nerdcore artist?

MR: Yes and no. I made Mega Ran before I knew what Nerdcore was. Prior to that, I made what people called conscious rap. Prior to that, not a lot of people know but I made gospel rap. So when I make a song or album with that theme, people will classify me there. It just so happened that making rap music with nerdy themes is what made me somewhat famous so now I'm Nerdcore. That's cool.

Mega Man Zero Collection is 1UPs new "Guilty Pleasure"

Wednesday, May 26, 2010, 2:22 PM [Mega Man]

1Up's resident retro-master (and creator of the always-fun Retronauts blog) Jeremy Parish has a new piece up on the joys of Mega Man Zero Collection's new "arranged" mode that lets you play through all the games in a cohesive, sequential experince.

As mentioned in IGN's MMZ Collection recap, you should also keep your eyes peeled for new dialogue and sprite-swapping fun, and once you feel your skills have powered up, you can also tackle the unchanged original games individually.

    Mega Man x Rubik's Cube

Wednesday, May 19, 2010, 12:01 PM [Mega Man]

Spotted over on waylou: A homemade "Rubik's Cube" featuring the Robot Master select screen from Mega Man 1-6.

Given how similar most of the sides look without careful inspection, solving this not only requires cube skillz, but also the ability to recognize your Robot Masters and the game they're from at a glance.
