Capcom Wants Your Resident Evil 5 Alt Costume Suggestions

Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 06:50 PM [Resident Evil]

So Resident Evil 5 was a hit. We might even get some new RE5 content, in some form or another.  Supposing that happened, and if just maaaaaybe we were thinking about adding some new costumes for Chris and Sheva, what do you think we should do?

Sheva in Jill's S.T.A.R.S. outfit?  Chris in Guile's fatigues?  Sheva in Felicia's outfit?  Do your worst, internet!

Remember, if you want your idea to have a chance, it should probably not be a crossover with another non-Capcom IP.  So no, we can't get Chris Redfield dressed up as the Hamburglar.

Comment here, we'll remove duplicate suggestions, and send them on to the team for review.  The good news is that we get to do this.  The bad news is that we have to get Takeuchi-san our complete list by Friday.  So... hurry it up and tell us what you think!

(P)Resident Evil Joke Rises from the Grave

Wednesday, May 6, 2009, 01:48 PM [Resident Evil]

Continuing the wave of comic book fascination with all things Obama, Antarctic Press steps in to reanimate a nearly 10-yr old joke

They'll be releasing "President Evil" this July where our Commander-in-Chief dishes out beatdowns to the undead (which appear to include an undead Abraham Lincoln).

And yes, this has been done.

    Capcom's Secret Sauce: Reuben Langdon

Friday, May 1, 2009, 12:22 PM [Resident Evil]

What connects DMC's Dante, Street Fighter's Ken, and RE's Chris Redfield?  It's the voice and motion capture of Reuben Langdon.

Kombo.com has a nice audio interview available with Reuben himself:

"We talked with Reuben about his origins as an actor in Japan, his stunt work along martial artists Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan, how motion capture has changed and what it's like to work as some of gaming's best-known heroes."

And yes ladies, as a man who spent a lot of time hanging with Rueben at tradeshows, his eyes really are that smokey, hurt, and wonderful.  Don't try and pick up chicks around this guy.

Play RE5 with Capcom (and Sony!) from Home Today

Thursday, April 16, 2009, 01:14 PM [Resident Evil]

Capcom will be slouching around the gorgeous new Resident Evil 5 game space in Home with our friends from Sony, from 3-7PM PST today.  If you smile really purdy, we'll launch the game from Home and play a session with you.

PS- Is it wrong that I like Chris Redfield's uppercut more than Ken Masters'?

Details from the Home forums below!

Beginning Thursday, at 3PM PST, members of the PlayStation Home Community Team and Capcom will enter the Resident Evil 5 game space within PlayStation Home, meet and greet with players and then enter game launching sessions with nearby players. To play with as many users as possible, please limit these play sessions to either 1 chapter of co-operative gameplay, 1 match of Versus gameplay or 20 minutes of gameplay, whichever comes first. After the gameplay session, we will return to the Resident Evil 5 game space and begin the process until 7PM or our hands go numb.

The PlayStation Home Community Team is teaming-up with our good friends over at Capcom to host a wild night of shooting infected in the face and of course, Game Launching action!

    WHEN: Thursday, April 16, 3:00PM PST to 7:00PM PST (6PM - 10PM EST)
WHERE: Resident Evil 5 Game Space

HOW IT WORKS: First, head to the Resident Evil 5 game space and be on the lookout for our special guests of the evening-

    Capcom_Kramer
    Capcom_s-kill
    CydoniaX
    Locust_Star
    BuggieTechnica

Quick Note: Home Moderators will NOT be sporting the yellow text, or MOD/HCS tags as usual, as we'll be playing on regular PlayStation 3's and not our special units. We WILL, however, be wearing staff jackets, so that will be the best way to spot us.

In order to quicken the process, feel free to start your own Game Launching session. In case you've never done this, here's a quick tutorial.

    1. Login to PlayStation Home and insert your Resident Evil 5 game disc.
    2. A pop-up will ask if you'd like to begin a Game Launching session. Accept this.
    3. Configure the game to your liking, and press Triangle to begin the session.

Congratulations! You should now have this wacky floating text above your head, advertising your game-
