My main man Majestros is back at it with his bi-weekly SFIV combos, and has put together some grade-A stupidity with Fuerte and Zangief. Now next time someone bets you it's impossible to land 5 El Fuerte focus crumples in one combo, you can go "nuh-HUH!" with confidence.
Maj is a true combo scientist, so of course in addition to the video, he has some helpful annotations to help you understand what makes it all possible. For instance:
0:22 Due to the quickness of both his forward dash and Focus Attack startup, El Fuerte is one of the few characters who can dash-cancel his lvl3 Focus Attack then connect a lvl2 Focus Attack before the opponent falls over. After the ultra, El Fuerte’s counterhit j.HP causes his F+MK to pass through Rufus and connect from the other side. Then he links into c.LK, c.MK xx run-stop, c.MK xx LK Flying Dynamite super, which misses one hit at the beginning. The LK version is the only one that’ll combo because it has the shortest startup period.
Two new Halloween videos from Japan's God's Garden arcade, featuring some of the best of the best. Okay, maybe they're not "halloween" videos, but the arcade is pretty dark, and facing Daigo is certainly scary?
Regardless, first up is Daigo (Ryu, duh) vs TKD, one of the best El Feurte players in the world. The only sad thing here is that Daigo is playing on such an incredible level lately that we don't get to see the full power of El Fuerte's tricks while he's getting run over. In talking with Daigo recently, he said he thinks he might be playing the best Street Fighter of his life right now--certainly the supreme confidence on display in this match means he is definitely believing his own hype!
The other new video is two of the country's other top players, Oji-san Boy (as Sagat) vs Kindevu's Rufus.
There are also two famous players commentating on the match (Mago on the left, Tokido on the right), though that's just kind of a tease unless you speak Japanese :) Enjoy!
Check out this beautiful new work from legendary Street Fighter artist Akiman. Once a great Street Fighter artist, always a great Street Fighter artist!
More pictures here, and his personal blog is here.
Some people paint, some knit, and some remix old USA Network cartoons for the lulz. Yes, TheSwitcher is back with another mind-bending mashup of the Street Fighter USA Network cartoons.
He whipped this one up special for our recent NYC Capcom Fight Club, but now we're sharing it with the rest of the world. It includes Some truly creepy portraits of Ryu and Ken, Blanka creating peace in the Middle East, T. Hawk exploding an (evil) computer console with his face, Dhalsim making fun of physics, and of course the obligatory "Bisonnnnnnnnnnn!"
Game artist Mike Kime is back with his newly finished M. Bison, aka Vega, aka "The Dictator." Truly incredible work!
And while I've seen his amazing Guile before, if it's new to you, be sure to check that one out too (and head here to see other amazing entries to the contest that inspired all the great work in the first place).
