Rival Schools return and why it would be a success

    Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 03:36 AM [General]

With the worldwide success of Street fighter 4. The fighting genre has revived and the street fighter franchise as well.

In 1997, Capcom released Rival Schools which is basically high schools students fighting each other. The game was a success because it brought  a lot of fresh air from the serious fighting games. The context of the fight was original because all the students were different discipline  which created unique fights. The design of the characters was just amazing and all of the characters were charismatic. Hayato beaing his students was a classic. The team up attacks were hilarious and inventive that gave even more peasure during the fights. Sakura the school girl of Street fighter was also included and I believe she was the inspiration for the creation of the rival schools serie because she made a huge impact in her first appearance in Alpha 2.

    Rival Schools cast

The anime style contributed to the atmosphere and there were even anime opening and ending that made this game awesome.

Project Justice would enhance everything that made Rival Schools a success. The better graphics made the characters even more charismatic. The atmosphere would be even better.

For a fighting game, the story of both games was pretty good which gave more depth to the characters. The player will bond with the characters. Even the endings were very emotional in different ways and memorable.

Here are the reasons why a Rival Schools 3 would be a success:

    - Street Fighter 4 success revamped the fighting game era and players such as I were interested to play old franchise such as Rival Schools or the old street fighter games.

    - Today, animes form Japan are extremely popular and even totally dominates the US market. In Europe, it is a phenomena as well. There are countless sites about popular animes. The atmosphere of the game should be its strenght.

    - I watched a lot of videos and it seems that fans really wish for a sequel. I have seen a lot of comments on how the franchise was appreaciated and how good the game was from european game sites. The game could benefit from nostalgia.

    - It would bring a great alternative from serious fighting games like Street Fighter 4. A lot of fresh air.

    - Street fighter characters should be introduced. Both games should be officially in the same universe. Sakura should be in the game that is a reference to the first game. She should team up with Ryu and Ken. Dan Hibiki MUST be in the game because he totally fits in the game. His crazy and funny personality made him a fan favourite among street fighter fans. He should team up with Chairsperson (who learned his style via email), Ran Hibiki his possible sister journalist. Their team up attacks would be hilarious and awesome as hell.

    - The story should take place at the end of the Sakura Ganbaru! manga which ends end up with an older Sakura facing Ryu. It would be great reason to justify Ryu and Ken appearance in the game. The three of them would tag along and meet the rival schools characters at Justice High in a martial art competition. At that moment, Kurow the antagonist from the previous game launches a new attack but this time with the help of the famous dark organization which was the Illuminati of Gill whose goal is to disturb the world's balance to create his new world. The story would mark the begining of his plan envisioned in Street Fighter 3. Of course, it is up to our heroes to end this.

    - The gameplay should be more or less the same. That means fun and even more hilarious. The balance should be well made to avoid frustration.

    - The motor graphic Street Fighter 4 could be of great use of the game. It would enhance make the characters even more cooler and even a new dimension. All the rival schools characters should come back with a new life but are always bond to their schools.

Overrall, Rival School would be a great success and a lot of frsh air. A tribute to the 90 eras in which I felt the games had more peronality.
