Capcom really doesn't care about this series? I mean they put garbage like Phoenix Wright, Arthur, Firebrand, Tron, Spencer.

Sengoku Basara left behind that's totelly a dumb move and i thought they gone add from them like Data

Masamune ... i feel sad because they think Western people will not recognized the characters form the series

Marvel vs Capcom is the fighter for their western audience and quite frankly, very few people out here know about SB. The only reason to include a character from the series into MvC would be to raise awareness of it in the west and even then musou games aren't especially popular or well received by the gaming community at large.

The thing is most of the Sengoku Basara characters are not actually Capcom characters, but real people. Exaggerated to become something else entirely, sure, but not really Capcom characters.

It would be like putting Abraham Lincoln into Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Or a more realistic addition, the Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. variant of Leonardo Da Vinci.

I too would love to see Sengoku Basara characters but their exclusion makes sense if you think about it.

If they used the ''Devil King'' names, will this help?

When I say west I mean North America and Europe. The series is niche at best and a sleeper hit if you're being generous.

It has nothing to do with them using historical domain names, its has everything to do with popularity.

LOL probably not since that wouldn't fly in Japan where they'd also have to release the game.

And yeah the real people analogy thing was something one of the guys running Capcom's Facebook page explained. It's not an official answer and who knows what Capcom's thinking, but it does make a lot of sense.

Kobayashi, the main guy behind Sengoku Basara fame doesn't seem to like having his characters appear in other games. He loves nods to other Capcom games as can be seen in Sengoku Basara, but he is not really for the crossover aspect. He has expressed his desire to have Dante stop appearing in non DMC games. When asked if other Capcom characters will appear in Dragon's Dogma he flat out said no because it was a new IP and didn't want it to be confused with other IPs.

This is of course speculation on my part. Still as was said with UMvC3 being geared towards the west and SB being popular in Japan only I doubt a conversation about including the SB crew even came to the table.

I'm not sure how much say Kobayashi has over DMC since he only worked on 1 and 4, but Niitsuma had to twist the DMC team's arm to get Dante in the game. Once that happened, the DMC crew liked it and asked them to use Trish too. I assume Vergil was a similar case. After they got Dante and Trish in it was a lot easier to get in Vergil.

Gotta say it would be really cool if Vergil had a Mitsunari alt at the very least. Cool
