I am 24 years old and I have been gaming as long as the original Nintendo Entertainment system. I always kept up with the new upcoming titles and have played through whats considered as the essentials to being an original gamer. The older we aged the more diversity was exerted to change the game play experience. All the way from side scrolling platforming to open world 3rd person RPG fighters, I have leveled up with games(terrible haiku).

As time progress, so does everyones preference and choice from what qualifies as entertainment. I love games like Casino Kid to Streets of Rage and Shenmue, so you can grasp what kept my fancy. A majority of classic games shared the fact that they were Japanese created while the American market slowly began its ascend.

Now were in the 21st century and video game consoles require broadband connections and community based interaction. The light years of progress in a little over 20 years has really become a custom for children of this generation. Also the reign of Japanese developers slowly declined. I have been purchasing my own product since I can remember with some help from loved ones. But as I am getting older, I get this vibe to rent a game rather than purchase. AAA titles become 4-8 hour purchases with little to no replay ability. My list of conscious purchases is becoming a small list while my mentality for support for game studios is lessening.

I am not much of a completest so trophies/achievements are not that appealing, and I don't really care for online unless its a 2D/3D fighter.

I feel left in the dust.
