Here comes a new challenger!!! In fact a whole bunch of them and yes at least two totally new ones while we are at it!
Okay calm down, Super Street Fighter IV or SSFIV for shorts, is coming in 2010 and it will be a whole new game. Forget thinking added content it's a new experience with a tweaked engine a whole new and bigger online experience and to top it off it will feature more characters than SFIV. I hear you thinking SFII turbo went from 12 to 16 character with SSFII so four more characters. Well that's actually not that bad thinking only expect a bigger bang. Think SFII (8 playable characters, 12 in the game) to SSFII (16 playable characters) adding 4 playable and 4 new characters to the bunch. So it is stated SSFIV will keep all the original characters and add around 8 to 10 extra characters.
But what it comes down to in Street Fighter is about gameplay, so besides the new and bigger online mode expect the ultras to double (more than that if you count the extra characters), and sparsely here and there a extra super (sparsely I said). Expect some other interesting changes, but we won't want to ruin all the gameplay updates just yet. For the die hard fans this is by no means enough information, in fact we have barely scratched the surface here. For anyone else this will be interesting, very interesting. So read on you dummy. :D
Gameplay is on a whole different level with Street Fighter, this is a real competitive game (the whole series is). Expect balance improvements, a whole bunch of them, barely noticeable by the casual gamer but game altering to the serious contenders. It will play the same, feel the same and yet all of a sudden your favorite character (no not the one that you already had a chance with, the other one) once again has a fighting chance. You can beat up that undefeatable bully. Like any true fighter will know all you have to do is train, fight and overpower or outsmart your enemy. The ultimate fight is and always remains at the horizon.
Here is where a lot of you are secretly craving for, the characters. Who will join the 25 headed cast? What is going on in the Street Fighter world? Well for one thing SSFIV takes place one year after SFIV. This time around T. Hawk and Dee Jay are back since their escapades in SSFII. They are joined by Juri a young South Korean female Tae Kwon Do expert. As well as the unconfirmed Hakan an Arabic grappler. The remaining 4-6 spots are easily filled by old time favorites:
Adon (SF1/Alpha) the speedy Muay Thai master
Guy (Alpha/FF) the Bushin master
Cody (Alpha/FF) the strong arm with an even stronger fist, a real down and dirty street fighter
Hugo (SFIII/FF) the big, heavy wrestler that towers above the competition
Ibuki (SFIII) a young female ninja on the rise
Oro (SFIII) the old hermit master looking for a worthy successor of his powerful and ancient style
PS. Hugo is likely to be replaced with Dudley and Oro by Makoto. But you probably say throw a dog a bone, because indeed 12 characters would fix that problem. Well speak up, how else will your voice be heard?
Where are these characters coming from? More interesting why are they ready to see some action? Well buckle up and sit tight, because this is going to be a fast and possibly bumpy ride. Was that a speed bump already?
----
Intro: Well speed is one thing that Juri whole heartedly possesses, she was brought up in South Korea, with no father to look after her and her mother always reminding her she was better of not knowing her father. It became apparent that at a ridiculously low age she felt pulled towards Tae Kwon Do, oh and she was one of those girls who really meant it. At a rapid pace her love for the sport manifested in raw fighting power and skill not easily matched. Finally she demanded to know who her father was and her mother told her, how she in a different time, once loved a man with great power, a man who would not bow to the law but bend it as he pleased. Soon after he became a crime lord, she felt that she was with child she had thought about their impossible future and had chosen to leave her lover the only way she knew... She staged her death, without telling him about his child for she knew that he would otherwise follow her to the end of the world and beyond. She also told her his name, as he was know since he became the ultimate lord and how he would turn more distant after she left him, and his empire would grow every day. Juri was shocked but felt mysteriously pulled towards this man, was she the child of a king of the underworld? As she grew older she felt more than meets the eye, something in her left eye to be exact. When she became excited to the point where there wasn't much holding her back from doing anything, raw purple energy would flow from her body especially from her eye. At first she could hardly control it at all, but with every fight, every time she trained, she could feel the increase in speed and the strength in her kicks grow, and she learned to at least control most of the energy. With her new skills and ever growing curiosity she found her way deep into criminal activity, it wasn't long before she was noticed and "recruited" by S.I.N.. She didn't mind doing their dirty work and was all to eager to be used and rewarded for her tasks. Eventually she was the only one who volunteered for one of S.I.N.'s experiments programs and as a result recieved Feng Shui Engine. Now as she learned of all the legendary fighters that surrounded project S.I.N. she is ready to conquer her place among them or if it needs be irradiate them, everything to get noticed by a certain M. Bison.
Ending: M. Bison sees how his operations to reemerge Shadaloo are failing and it seems everything he has worked for is falling down around him, the building is starting to crumble, he must act now. Before him is the girl that just told him something, deep inside him he instantly knew it was true, this little something had his mind racing. The words echoed in his mind. "Bison, I am your daughter." Was he trembling? The project S.I.N. would collapse and be ruined if he didn't act now... Instead he decides to bring his daughter to safety.
----
Intro: A Native American the size of a big tree sat in front of the valley that he and his people had called home for many centuries. As he sat in the sunset, he knew it was time for a trip. It had been some time since he had heard anything about Shadaloo, both Guile and Chun Li had been uncomfortable silent and what he did learn just now was something of concern to him. Juni and Juli had been spotted, they seemed in perfect health and good shape, something that could not be said about the ones that tried to stop them. M. Bison evidently had been busy and S.I.N. wasn't his only project, these girls must have been subject to many of his experiments. T. Hawk was determined he'd find the girls and bring them home, and nobody was going to stop him. He had been preparing for this, finally some action.
Ending: T. Hawk finally finds the girls he has been looking for Juni and Juli, resilient as he is to fight them there is little else he can do to stop them from killing him. He is met with a fierce team unlike anything he has experienced before. However brave and hard he fights he cannot stop the girls. Before they move in for the kill Juli stops Juni's killing blow taking the damage, somewhere deep inside her there is a shred of humanity left. T. Hawk watches through a bloody haze, as Juni and Juli start fighting. If Juli had shown humanity towards T. Hawk, so does Juni show humanity towards the now injured Juli. They duo leaves a screaming T. Hawk begging them to stay. When T. Hawk awakes in a hospital, he receives a letter, in it is one big word "Thanks!" signed "J & J". T. Hawk looked through the hospital window, his eyes full of determination, saying: "They are somewhere out there, free...". Seeing one of the nurses, he can't help but smile.

Intro: An ancient era was witness to many religious practices and temples became the world's storehouse of knowledge and culture. The ancient temples are more than mere places of worship. These are sacred buildings of ultimate grace and eternal happiness, and house some of the most ancient fighting knowledge that graces the earth. Thousands were taught the four now forbidden arts known as, Hanumanti that concentrates on technical superiority, Jambuvanti that uses locks and holds to force the opponent into submission, Jarasandhi that concentrates on breaking the limbs and joints and Bhimaseni that focuses on sheer strength. Among them stands tall Hakan, the master of all four kinds of Malla-yuddha and Indian legend that rose from the slums and became renown in wrestling circles for his impossible feats and his decade long winning streak in the rings. Weary of the fame he decides to dedicate all his energy to his Spartan life style of training and fighting and teaching for his quest to share the knowledge of Malla-yuddha with the world and gaining more power through better understanding. It brought him to many places and many foes. But one man came looking for him in his home country, an old master that defeated him, but as he told him he was stronger than he could have ever expected, the man by name of Retsu told him of the underground street fighter tournaments. The impressed Hakan was eager to fight these and took his traveling bags and went where Retsu told him to go.
Ending: Hakan was not disappointed, he had found a group of fighters that were stronger and more varying in styles and techniques than he had ever had fought and he had proven his strength and power. With all his new knowledge he had gathered he could easily become twice as strong, perfect his techniques beyond what he had believed possible before. Soon he'd not only defeat the competition but rise above them as he'd always done with every obstacle that was before him. He already felt the raw new found power stream through his body. It's time to meet this "Retsu" again. The man smiled with a grin with the size of what would have killed a lesser man.

Intro: The aerobic kick boxing fitness program famously known as Aero Bo has become a major hype throughout the world, on every corner people are training under heavy rhythmic beats. Strengthening their bodies and their love for music. The man behind them is legendary fighter and musical genius Dee Jay, he has found what he has been looking for throughout his life. With his manager Damnd for a while he lived his dream, every thing he touched turned gold, his music was sold out before his album was made, but soon the popularity of Aero Bo began to fade, other newer fitness programs took over and with it their love for his music slowly faded. Dee Jay knew what he had to do, he returned to the only thing where it was really about him, the thing he was always getting better at, fighting. Through fighting he had found the perfect beat and now through fighting he would look for a more perfect beat. Dee Jay knew where he had to go.
Ending: Dee Jay had impressed the world with his improved techniques and shown that he was a though a fighter as his program Aero Bo had promised to create. After a series of what he liked to call beatdowns, Dee Jay found a more perfect beat. Already people were starting to take up Aero Bo. A new hit song "In the Rough" took hip hop by storm as did his record "Get Ripped or Die Fighting". But Dee Jay had another thing coming for them, it would only take time for him to make his new aerobic kick boxing fitness program, Super Aero Bo.

Intro: A broken spirited fighter, roams around in his native country thinking of nothing but his loss to Sagat. Something had gone awfully wrong, his defeat had been painful, he had felt Sagat's full power and had proven to be unready. He had once felt like this before when Ryu had beaten his old master. He had proven to be superior and now his was ashamed. Throughout Thailand, he had wandered fighting and training looking for a key to strike out any weakness he had left and to delve deep for more powerful techniques. The days felt more like a blurry dream than anything else, finally when tracking down the roots of Muay Thai art he finally found an art untouched by the modern ways, to Adon's trained and wanting eye it was easy to see it was lot more deadly, its secrets forgotten to but a few. To Adon learning the raw new ways felt easy, finally he was allowed to let his rage completely take over, finally the energy flowed wildly, for he really wanted nothing but to win, the fight was all. This was what it meant to be a true fighter. His love for Muay Thai together with his knowledge helped him to deeply delve into this art, once known as Muay Boran. His body steadily molded as if a guided projectile of deadly force, in many ways a true weapon, it felt like only now he was truly grasping what it meant, to go beyond the limits of his body. To live for the fight. Sagat would pay for everything and so would anyone who would get in his way.
Ending: As Adon beats Sagat there is not a single thing in Adon's mind stopping him from killing his old master if it wasn't for Ryu standing before him. The fight is epic and Ryu but eventually it shows Ryu cannot stop Adon. As Adon's rage surges he kicks Ryu as if his body is a broken training bag. Ryu feels the energy there is something that he has cannot ignore if he dies so will Sagat. He must stop him, he must live, he must win. Soon Ryu taps into something he has sworn not to, his Hado flows wildly. The rapid flurry of punches and kicks swirl Adon to the ground. Ryu connects his Metsu Shoryuken instead of hitting the almost lifeless Adon, another body takes the blow and Adon is disappeared. Red eyes surge before Ryu's. As Ryu feels Akuma's presence the seal on the Satsui no Hadou reemerges, shocked he sinks down to the floor. Dark and distant words clatter through the air. "You can fight your destiny all you want... I know it, Gouken knows it, you will never be a true warrior until you accept what you are." Ryu cannot help but the feel a cold shiver run through his spine. Some time later Adon wakes up and in front him is a man that reminded him of Ryu, only there was something decidedly different about him. Akuma spoke the words "You are like a key to ones destiny. It might be unwillingly, but you seem to bring out the best in people. I might find use for that." that would puzzle Adon for some time to come, and well he didn't get that much response out of this man. Nevertheless, after seeing Akuma train he decides to stick around for a while.
----
Intro: There was trouble in the world, plenty of problems and even dozens of day to day life threatening situations, but there were times this man would sense things differently, when he felt pulled to a certain location or event knowing his presence was required. He was to carry the heavy burden and honor of being the 39th Bushinryu master. Now was such a time. He had visioned Rose was on the move, chances were she'd lead him to the desired location. Regardless Guy would do whatever was needed.
Ending: After Guy and Rose defeats M. Bison, as M. Bison retreats they realize his organization scatters around them and leave to get to safety. Guy tells Rose that if he ever returns so will he. Rose tells Guy she doesn't feel alone anymore when she is with him. Guy puts his arm around her... All of a sudden Guy jumps up, "We are not alone!". Maki comes out of the bushes and "That's because I was here the whole time, you sorry excuse for a Bushinryu master. Or should I say temporary Bushinryu master?" Rose tells Guy to give her a shot, as she has earned it by training hard. Maki replies: "How the hell would she know!" The two battle while the sun sets.
----
Intro: The big man, the major of Metro City uncomfortably holds the phone, like he could squeeze it any second now. "Listen, we've gone over this a lot of times. Something needs to be done. I know it's what you love to do, and this is all a big favor to you in that way. I could have called Guy to handle this. Heck if I could, I'd love to handle this myself." Haggar had an angry look, yet he couldn't help liking to talk to such a good friend of his. The voice at the other side was that of Cody Travers, he had just been informed of Hugo severely wounding some citizens by beating them up, evidently because they shouted at him. He heard it all started because they didn't like him beating their precious American wrestler stars, especially because most wrestlers ended up in the hospital after the fights. As a result of beating up the civilians Hugo had been banned from wrestling and lost his wrestling partner. But that didn't stop him from telling a story about a corrupt major who had made all this happen in fear of being defeated by an old rival. The story was actually picked up, journalists had successfully connected three of the victims towards Haggar's past and since Hugo remained undefeated it seemed plausible and did actually hurt Haggar's reputation. "Okay I'll do it, but only if you come as a contender, to one of these official Street Fighter Tournaments yourself one day." The phone went silent for a while, until finally a laughing voice replied: "Agreed, I know arguing with you doesn't work anyway. Just don't rough him up to bad, okay?" Now Cody had agreed to go after Hugo and publicly defeat him in front of the camera, so the world could see he wasn't unbeatable after all. He'd been dying to see some real action, something to test his full power.
Ending: After a lot fighting Cody find Hugo, so they can finally fight. After an exhausting showdown eventually the giant goes down, but Cody is severely injured. Actually this was his toughest fight in many years. Now that it is over, he is just really glad to have done something for his friend Haggar. Finally he feels that besides the fighting he's secretly getting a little taste of doing things not just because it's a fighting thrill or adventure, but because it's right. To avoid becoming a silly hero, he decides to take small steps, fighting is still his priority. Come to think of it, he should pay Maki and her gang a visit, last time, they had such a great time together "cleaning the streets" with her motor gang!
----
Intro: After the wrestler of gigantic proportions was banned from professional wrestling, simply because he'd fought of a few angry fans, he had lost his chance to fight his idol Haggar, who was the reason he had entered wrestling in the first place. As a result he also lost his partner who went on with someone else. Hugo was sad, he'd be outside for hours than walk inside and pretty much sit there the same way, thinking and groveling how things went bad. He'd always been promised a lot and never really saw any money or gain from his fights and now the only thing he was really good at was taken from him. He needed some guidance, he decided to call a good friend. When Poison met up with him, she soon helped him form a plan to possibly still fight his idol Haggar one day. They had to set him up, attack him where it hurt, damage his name. But sadly there was no response. Hugo couldn't stay away from fighting too long, so Poison helped him get towards some fighting, some place were bans and roughness wasn't really an issue.
Ending: After Hugo defeated many opponents, Haggar called Hugo, to congratulate him, and out of respect told him: "Your ban has been lifted, for as long as you don't hurt any more civilians." Hugo smiled and hugged Poison, "If I didn't have such a good friend I'd never be able to fight Haggar! One day I'll be worthy!". His best friend Poison would make sure of that. As a angry fan of one of his opponents ran at Hugo, Poison quickly smacked him aside.
----
Intro: A young ninja girl sat on a rock in her valley. Sure if you didn't know she was there, you'd have a though job spotting her, but disgruntled as she was you did see her. She had been asked once again to do all the toughest exercises, while the others are free to relax and do whatever they wanted. From childhood she had the remarkable gift of always getting noticed, one of the core requirements of not being a ninja, and even though she did everything else perhaps twice as well as the others she had to train when the other children went off enjoying their spare time. In time she had learned and improved her stealth skills, but she had become too head strong to really show it to any of the ninja masters. As a result she had to continue training, training and training. Pheww, why did she have to have this lot? She wished she wasn't born in a ninja village. The girl decided, she should see more of the world. Now was as good a time as any, she would probably get noticed if she would change gear, so she decides to leave in her ninja outfit. When she enters the nearest most urban city she can find, she wanders it for a while, finally she enters the biggest most beautiful hotel she spotted and asks kindly for a night sleep. By coincidence she runs into Karin Kanzuki, who when noticing her ninja outfit offers her a nights sleep in one of her personal rooms. They spar in her personal dojo and after being severely impressed Karin takes Ibuki to see her friend Sakura, who happens to be fighting Dan at the time. Ibuki can't help but join Sakura on her quest, at least until anything more interesting pops up.
Ending: It has been quite an adventure... Fighting never had seemed so much fun as it did now! To top it off Ibuki manages to fight Guy, who out of respect for her fighting prowess, helps her to further improve her stealth skills. Proud to have successfully overcome her problem she decides to go back to her village, at least for a while. She has a little something to show off to her friends.
----
Intro: Deep inside the thick Amazon Jungle, down a mountain an old hermit was interchangeably resting and training in his cave, but with all things you do a few years in a row he got bored and while he was thinking about leaving this place in a few more years, to see some action again... All of a sudden he felt something on his skin, no it couldn't be! He felt it inside his body now, stronger than before, was it really true? A energy he hadn't felt for a long time, appearing to be from a friend of his past. Could it really be Gouken? As if weightless Oro rose to his feet. He thought to himself: "Has this old fool found an excuse to leave his old cave? Certainly, I must have outdone myself this time." He walked outside of his cave and closed it by rolling a big rock in front of it's opening, without even laying a finger on it.
Ending: Oro and Gouken continue their fight, in an epic style. Oro asks Gouken: "Did I make you angry?" Gouken responds: "Quite the opposite, you made my day." The two of them continue the epic battle for a few more devastating strikes, and Gouken says: "Not bad, for an old fool!" and as a result the two of them keep laughing for a long time.
---- Sakura ----
Encore 01:
Intro: After Sakura meets with Ryu again, in all safety they spend some time together, training and talking, she starts to admire him more because of his goals and personality. Finally she decides she must continue to grow stronger but also spend more time growing as a person. When she wakes up and wants to go to Ryu who should already be up and training, she notices he left her a letter telling her he has to continue his journey, but hopes to see her again soon.
Ending: During Sakura's adventures she becomes quite the young lady, now when she finally finds Ryu again she challenges him to a sparring match. Ryu tells her they should first train together for a few days, as he wants to show her some things he has learned. Sakura doubts if it is a trick of him to get away with one of those letters again, but she keeps her thoughts quiet and finally agrees. During their days training in a remote area Ryu goes to gather food and water, leaving her to her training for the while. An old man approaches Sakura, telling her he is impressed by her capability to rapidly pick up new things. Indeed he himself wants to show her something, something she in turn must show Ryu. The old man starts teaching Sakura two new techniques, the Denjin Hadouken and the Shin Shoryuken. When Ryu returns to Sakura she has quite the surprise for him! Ryu is shocked.
---- M. Bison ----
Encore 02:
Intro: Inside a Shadaloo hideout a young scientist speaks, his lord is informed that his secret project is complete, everything has been stored and put away safely as he has requested. M. Bison's stoic face implied that he was pleased. He asked: "I thrust, you kept the project's local setup running, as requested?" The scientist confirmed. "Good, I have a feeling it can benefit from some activity in the near future." As he finished the sentence, the alarms of the Shadaloo hideout ring.
Ending: As M.Bison fights both Rose and Guy at the same time, he finally retreats into a passage in the wall. As soon as he does, Vega jumps from the shadows and quickly tells M. Bison he has learned that Seth has been killed by Abel. M. Bison responds: "Interesting... this is most excellent!". He dismisses Vega on a mission to locate Abel. His eyes go over the many monitoring screens, from the looks of things his hideout is not lasting much longer, "Some things must be handled in person". In the maze of hallways, a young woman of the S.I.N. staff by the name of Juri runs into him. After she impresses him with her fighting, she voices the words: "Bison, I am your daughter." While they echo inside the man's head, the building starts to collapse. Deep inside him he knows these words hold the truth, yet he knows nothing to say to her, not now. Instead of going after the attackers as he planned, he protects her as the ceiling comes down. Moments later not to far away, Juri lies on the ground, next to her sits M. Bison, his head resting in his hand. As he sits there deep in thought, he hardly notices that a mysterious guy in a trenchcoat and a hat approaches, as he instinctively turns his head he looked straight into his featureless metal mask with his burning yellow eyes, now M. Bison is wide awake. M. Bison grabs his arm in an attempt to dissable it, but unmoved and unharmed the man signs M. Bison to follow him.
---- Abel ----
Encore 03:
Intro: As if a new man Abel walks through a pleasantly active street, but with every step a dark image of the BLECE project pops into his head. Like a blink it's there and it's gone. Remnants of that fact that there is so much that he still needs to learn. The leader of S.I.N. should be able to tell him more, much more. "If he wouldn't talk...", Abel shook his head, "He would talk."
Ending: As Abel defeats Seth he grabs him telling him to speak. Soon he learns that he was in fact part of the BLECE project, but how Abel much like Seth is different from the other subjects, only Abel became self aware a long time before Seth did. Seth tells him: "You are really the one who got away! I'm much like you ignorant about most of my past. M. Bison is the only one who can really tell us more. Look at what he did to me!". As Abel looks at Seth's body he feels Seth's pain, and instantly he somewhat loosens his grip, Seth manages to escape and jumps into the elevator, but as it hums down the whole building starts to come down. Abel smacks part of the elevator doors open, but he's too late, the elevator cable broke off. He cannot do anything but run for his own life, determent he bust through a few doors and barely manages to survive. He's now one step closer to his past and future. Some time later, Abel decides to return to the rubble of what once was the building where he fought Seth. From out of nowhere he hears an assassins voice "Hey Blondie, I've a one way ticket to your past", a clawed fist dives towards him. Abel shouts "Perfect!" as he dashes towards him.
