You know, I've been a Mega Man fan since day 1. Right down to buying the DVD box sets of the cartoons (Super Fighting Robot FTW!). I can't pretend that I've been obsessive or even the quote unquote "biggest" fan on here (I'm relatively new on here but plan to stay after seeing this community).
I don't have Bubble Man wallpaper in my room. I don't have a complete set of the Bandai figures from Japan like the Iron Buster Rockman or the various interchangeable armor for all the Rockman X figures. I don't have some of the more obscure titles like Rockboard or Rockman & Forte for the Wonderswan.
I do, however, own and regularly play all the domestically released games in the original and X series. Really, I just like having them. I just like Mega Man. The reason why I want this box set is because I want to have something to hold that is Mega Man 9. I can't line my Wii up with all my other games.
I just feel "closer" to Mega Man as a series than I do to a lot of other games, if that makes any sense. I've spent a lot of time doing on the fly translations from the Japanese Rockman X2 just to try to see why Serges calls X "ロック" (Rock) in one of the cutscenes. Was that implicating something?
The point is, I can't prove that I am somehow a bigger fan than so-and-so or whatshisface. We're all fans here, right? I don't have anything to really give the community outside of just stories and experiences I've had with the series. All I have to give is my word that it's a series I won't abandon and my collection will gradually grow because of that. I hope that's enough.
Please tell me that's enough. :..(
