Capcom Brings the Arcade Love to the Top 20

Monday, January 5, 2009, 11:05 AM PST [General]

We've definitely been all over the arcade game scene recently, five of which made Xbox's Top 20 Arcade Titles. WotB Commando 3 at #18, MM9 at #16, and what's this I'm seeing Mega Man Fans? 1942 is kickin' your butts at #14! What's the deal? Then of course, the ever so awesome Bionic Commando: Rearmed coming at #9. I think SSF2THDR is a bit higher than number 6 though... ;) Of course, it also came late to the 2008 party.

Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions purchased)
    1 Castle Crashers
2 Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
    3 Braid
    4 A Kingdom for Keflings
    5 UNO
6 Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
    7 Fable II Pub Games
    8 Duke Nukem 3D
    9 Bionic Commando: Rearmed
    10 Worms
    11 SOULCALIBUR
    12 Portal: Still Alive
    13 DOOM
    14 1942: Joint Strike
    15 Bomberman Live
    16 MEGA MAN 9
    17 N+
18 Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3
    19 Marble Blast Ultra
    20 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Sweet!! Capcom dominates all over the list! Too bad SSFIITHDR didn't take a higher place. Great game though!!

There is no Capcom games in the PSN ranking. Maybe it's because about the delays (mainly outside USA) and the lack of demos.

Oh this is yearly sales. Whatever most of these games don't deserve to be on the list. Fable 2 was free for Limited edition players and free for pre-orders. Worms is a discount price game and was sold at double discount a few times. A kingdom of kelings sold because it's the first avatar game. UNO and Geometry wars are too much like drugs so they don't count cause(say no to drugs).

Joking around of course. SF2HDremix will still sell more next year too I bet. It's one of those everlasting games like nintendo games(ala Mariokart, Brawl). They keep selling well even after launch.

Congrats Capcom for grabbing like 5 spots.
