The Rathalos, known as the King in the world of Monster Hunter. The iconic monster for many hunters, the Rathalos has been around since the beginning. Through each game he's improved, and in Monster Hunter Tri he's the best and most exciting to fight as ever. He's come back with a new set of moves, and makes use of his powerful wings to stay airborne and above your swinging sword.
Rathalos: Terrible wyverns called the "Kings of the Skies". Together with Rathian, they stake wide territories centered around their nests. Rathalos descend on invaders from the sky, attacking with poison claws and breath of fire.
Here's some tips from the pros.
Ironbeard: "Rathalos truly is th' king! He's cunning, wild, and strong enough ta' tear evn the strongest of hunters to wee shreds! Be sure to pack up on everything; potions, rations, antidotes, and anythin' else ya can spare the room to bring."
Bastion: "Watch out for its new fire blast and, as always, its rain of fire from the air. If you happen to get caught by these, roll into some water, even if its just ankle high, to put out the flames."
Gerald: "ALL HAIL THE KING! Be careful of his tail whip when he spins around. Chop it off quick! Watch out for his fireballs too, and just keep whompin' on him. But be careful, he is THE KING after all."
Snow: "As the hunters above have said, 'Los has some new and wicked moves. He hovers a lot now, so stock up on items to keep him grounded. Keep in mind that his wing claws and facial horns can be broken off, and his tail can be lopped off."
On Monday we're covering the Qurupeco. If you've gotten the demo, and have some tips for hunting him for the community, send it to me in a private message and you could be featured as one of the pro hunters!
A couple days ago we had a contest for you to ask anything about Monster Hunter Tri and get a free demo. Here's our winners:
FeatherFang asks, "Are there any Capcom character cameos in this game?"
There's not a exactly a cameo, but there is sets of armor that make you look like other Capcom characters. Like this Chun-Li armor made from the Gobul.
Matthew asks, "In the trailers, many sand-faring ships are seen. Will players be able to control one of these, or ride on them? If not, will there be DLC for them? If so, are they wifi as well?"
You will get to ride one, a pretty big one in fact. But when riding a big ship in the sand, you can bet you'll be hunting a pretty big monster. You'll see this kind of thing online in the Event Quests, so you can bring your hunting crew with you for some of my personal favorite quests in the game. =)
I've got more demos to give out, so comment below asking anything you want about Monster Hunter Tri. If we answer it we'll send you a demo!
