Well, the wait on line ended up being worth it for the 300+ who attended the event. The weather outside was warmer than it had been all week, and everyone was eagerly anticipating getting their hands on a stick or pad. Talk about a non-descript location.
Upon entering, we were required to recite some rules before being let into the party.
The art on the walls was the first thing to catch my eye, hand drawn with sharpies by Jim Mahfood, aka Food One.
There was even a SNES with SFII hooked up!
Everyone had a great time. The iam8bit guys and the Capcom staff there were extremely friendly, taking the time to talk to anyone and everyone. You couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to put on an event like this for the community here.
Here are some pics from the gatherings around the games, and some video too.
I think almost everyone knows who is in this next pic. 51 wins in a row as Sakura, and he gave it up so others could play. Ridiculous and impressive.
Again, thanks to Capcom and Iam8bit for a great time. Can't wait til you guys do this again!
