I just did a massive write-up about all the games at Captivate 09. I will be doing a big write up on Spyborgs a little later too. But here is my first take on it:

Spyborgs- I will actually be writing a more in-depth blog about this game a little later, so stay tuned for that. This was one of the biggest surprises of the event. I went into this presentation with no idea what to think, and the game didn't quite win me over until I got my hands on it a little later.

Remember when you and a friend would press start and beat up all the bad guys between point A and point B? Remember the feeling you got when you think you beat a giant boss, only to have it come back stronger and flinging missiles? This is a game for you. This game is a modern entry into the proud legacy of Capcom beat-em-ups. Throw in motion controls that are tasteful and intuitive, instead of obnoxious and tacked-on, and you have a Wii game for Capcom fans to get excited about.

Stay tuned for more later!

Looking forward to seeing your full hands-on!

Quick question, IGN says the game runs in 60 frames per second, does it always keep the framerate, or does it dip at all? The screenshots are clean of jaggies, how did they look in person when playing the game? And were there any platforming elements?

I didn't notice any visual hiccups when I played the game.

There are some minor platforming elements, but I would say this is pretty much a beat-em-up. There are crates to be busted and you can jump around, but from what I played it's all about busting up robots.

Have to say I was hoping it would be a single player adventure game or a platformer..or a shooter done over the shoulder RE4 style.

A co-op focused  brawler pretty much puts it straight into the "DO NOT WANT" pile for me. I'm bored of brawlers and I loathe forced co-op (and hate AI controlled partners in single player games).

A shame as they look like they have put some effort into it ...but it pretty much ticks all the boxes for things I don't want from a game.

I'm not sure why Capcom didn't simply buy up a Saturday Morning Cartoon licence to be honest rather than risk creating their own version of it..as at least that would give the game a hook for the casual market. Rather than appealing to the casual and hardcore I think this game will put off both markets...not hardcore enough to attract the hardcore player...no licence to pull in the casual market. Seems quite ill conceived.

Damn, I wanted a platformer too. The Wii already has 2 great brawlers (NMH and MAdworld) and I'm not interested in another Frown

And, yeah, forced co-op does suck.

"We have a broad Wii portfolio. I don't see that changing in the future. " - Sven

"How many Wii titles have online co-op, even from Nintendo?" - Sven... so you want Capcom to be as mediocre as the rest of Wii developers? Figures.

I agree that since it's forced, the co-op should be online. Make it Brawl and MKWii style where if your bud disconnects, the CPU will take over (after letting you know of course :P).

Player 2 can join and leave locally anytime with the CPU taking over.

I'm sure, but I'm concerned that the game might not be that fun if your alone with the CPU controlling the other character.

You were alone most of the time weren't you?

Playing alone isn't as enjoyable, no. Especially when performing combo attacks as in single player, only you will be required to get the motion control movements (shown on-screen) correct, whereas your AI partner will perform its half of the combo perfectly. Sure, it's an easier way to perform the most powerful moves, but I much prefer the challenge of having to ensure that me AND my partner are on the ball.

Any game with heavy emphasis on having a partner (RE5 for example) will always be better with a physical human being partnering you (or a cat, dog, whatever floats your boat).

All the screens here, just for easy scrolling, there is artwork of Bouncer and Clandesitine and a bigger logo, but that'll remain in the link:
