What better way to celebrate US Independence Day than by watching a sweet home-brewed trailer for the UK's "Battle of Destiny, The Road to EVOlution" tournament?
On July 26th and 27th, Europe's best will convene in London for the chance to win a trip to the EVO World Finals in Las Vegas. The Neo Empire crew has also added a boatload of special events, so you'll have plenty to do even if the Frenchies knock you out in the first round.
The video has all the necessary details, told via exciting new moving-picture technology, but if you find all this video stuff a bit too intoxicating, you can get the information (and sign up!) over at the Battle of Destiny website!
We want YOU! ...if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area and are free on the afternoon of July 10th, 2008. Selected participants will be coming here, to the flimflamfabulous Capcom HQ, to test a secret new game we've got in development.
You play the secret game, then we ask you questions, and later there will be cookies! Sometimes there are not cookies, but there will definitely be PRIZES, showered on you by us.
You must be:
-18 years old (or older), with valid ID
-interested in action, puzzle, and strategy games.
-in the SF Bay Area and free July 10th, from 1-5pm.
-able to travel to the aforementioned fabulous Capcom HQ on your own.
If you can jump those hurdles, send a message to CapcomContest here on Unity. Title the message "July 10th Focus Test" and give us your name, age, some examples of the games you like best, and a contact phone number.
**We unfortunately can't use anybody that's come to one of our earlier focus tests, so if you've helped us out before, give somebody else a chance!
Yes, it's a best-of fan activity roundup *that was itself created by a fan*.
The meta-ness is enough to hurt your brain, but let's just call it community coming full circle and direct you over to the inimitable Mr Jared's blog, to showcase delicious morsels of Bionic Commando, Street Fighter HD Remix, Capcom t-shirts, and cosplay, cosplay, cosplay!
The wait is almost over--at least if you're in Japan. Street Fighter IV ships out July 18, 2008!
If you're not in Japan, you'll get a chance to go hands-on with the machines at Comic-Con in San Diego from July 24-27th or at the EVO Finals in Las Vegas, August 8-10th!
