I mean, how can you get more precise than a keyboard? you can hit the exact direction you want with precision that cannot be matched on a pad or a stick.

360s are indeed a bit harder, though.

I suppose it can be quite easy but I'll have to try it out before passing on an opinion. On the other hand, the actual 360 controller would be a nuisance so I  going for a fightpad instead.Smile

Pressing and releasing three buttons, in order, with precise timing, fast enough to react in a high-intensity situation is tremendously more difficult than a simple quarter-circle motion with a stick or d-pad. Just the fact that you have to co-ordinate three fingers as versus one wrist/thumb should be indicitive enough. I've tried to use a keyboard with fighting games more than I should have in the past, and found it to be a disaster in comparison. Unless you have some extreme affinity with using a keyboard in fighting games (though how you got that much practice eludes me), you're going to be a lot better off with even a cheap Logitech pad.

negative. I'm speaking from experience. there is nothing hard about hitting down, forward, punch or [shoryuken motion] punch on a keyboard at all. The precision is better than a pad, and another advantage keyboard has over the pad is having access to all of your attacks with your fingertips, rather than having to do everything with your thumb. This is also a big reason why an arcade stick is the best - the directions are more defined, and you get to use all of your fingers for the buttons.

A more real problem with some keyboards is their technical limitation of not being able to read more than 3 inputs at once, which does problems in certain fighting games

I agree that keyboards are better than pads with regards to the ability to press attack buttons, but for directional input, it's silly to claim that managing separate button presses can be compared in speed or effeciency to tilting your thumb a bit on a pad. A keyboard may be more accurate (and I'm not particularly convinced that it is), but it's certainly not as intuitive.

Also, I'm speaking from experience as well, as I stated in my first post.

Actually I think all 3 kinds of controller = good. I dont think you can compare.

Pad requires thumb. Keyboard requires fingers. Stick requires wrist/arm.

So if you're extremely handy with your thumbs, choose pad. Handy with fingers? Choose keyboard. Have you got amazing wicked wrists? Get a stick.

I dont talk about the buttons since pressing them with all fingers possible is obviously the best way, and the upper part of the game is all about the movement.

Of course it's all about what you are used to; I myself have been playing PC games for years, especially GunZ, that game requires extremely handy fingers which I gained right now.

So yeah everyone differs, from my experience Im extremely good with WASD on keyboard, my thumbs are slow for the pad and my arm/wrist broke a while ago; thus my wrist gets tired pretty fast if using a stick.

Conclusion: for me the ultimately way to play a game on high level is using a keyboard.

hmm, i dont think anyone has set up a cafe type place for pc sf4 community. I'm guessing mIRC would do nicely if someone set that up. Or some other type of program or w/e.
