looking at your video its not that you can't beat him but i would say that you are not comfy with the matchup i guess just like me.


a few things that may help you, if you see him crouch don't do any jumpin, don't try to out poke rog's c.lp ryu's c.attack will not win. saving your meter will come handy to beat rog, like you did when you win the 1 round.


when rog did an ex dash from far away you can actually grab them before they gets to you.


also rog's weakness on headbutt is that it is going forward pretty far, so if you do a cross up and he did a headbutt, it will likely to go away from you and you won't get hit unless he change direction.


you can try to be patient by blocking and not doing any pokes since he doesn't really do tick and throw to bait his headbutt.


blocked headbutt is punishable by many things. you did punish them with a throw which is ok but you can actually combo like c.hp/hp, hp srk, fadc to ultra if you have it or simple one is just c.hp to ex tatsu that deals pretty nice 300 damage. i was told that rog has 1100 health point that is 100 more than ryu and his headbutt deals more damage than ryu's shoryuken :(


also there is a risky trick against rog when you are at the opposite end or close to it, so when you do hp hadouken then rog at the other end did tap (that hold 3 button thingie) he will evade the hadou but as soon as your hadou is out of the screen you can do ultra which will caught him or you can do shoryuken if you are fast enough.


i too have problems with rog :( but i found out that best if you don't try to counter poke as they have pretty nice trick like, dash from a bit far, we block then they do headbutt to beat us if we try to counter poke or throw which they follow with ultra or they do combos then overhead dash, c.lk, headbutt, ultra :(





Trust me, I know what you are saying about the good and bad part.. I have played against much, MUCH better Rog's in G1...for instance BBtime...which is also why i was so frustrated...I was frustrated from the begining and just never recovered, and I see how STUPID I was playing now watching the videos...jumping way too much, too many hurricane kicks, stupid dragon punches..the list goes on...

none of us is perfect :D, hurricane kick is actually pretty good to break ex dashes problem is Ryu's kick needs to be in front :( if it is on the back it will lose to the dashes :(

Man I can't believe I lost to that Rog, I was hoping to go undefeated this time around in the premiership...

Mac is not bad but not that good compared to the other names mentioned. Luffy I tried to face a couple of times  but it was bad timing and now I don't even bother anymore. Myka and I always have great matches and a lot of them go to the last round but he always manages to steal them away lol. m2dave is also a great sagat and seth player. EmblemLord is one of the best sagats I've faced as well. I'm also gonna try and face Beyleh soon as well as somuchdamage to get my revenge from last time lol


As for balrog, that's a really tough match up for ryu. He only needs to hit you with one cr. jab to start his long link into ultra. I'm getting more experience against rog so I'm better than before I'm also gonna face that carlito guy soon since he wants to play me, we'll see if I can avenge Brandon lol.


anyways, you do what you can online, no point to stress over it. Sometimes lag costs you the match or your opponent, best not to get frasturated about it. Hopefully ssf4 will have a better netcode so we can play more seriously.

PSN has been acting up lately. But today I got information on how to give my ps3 a static ip and then DMZ on my router. I played online, and for the first time I had zero lag. And I didn't have any disconnects, and actually got just 1 unable to play..instead of the usual 6 -10 an hour i would usually get.

I mean for the most part it's always fine for me, the problem is mostly always with Sith, for some reason we can't connect :(

And don't sweat it Brandon now Balrog is becoming a problem for me too with that rediculous antiair setup to Ultra!

I had a great win against some Gouki Player Yesterday to break into G2B. I woke up, showered and jumped onto Champ mode, wasn't playing very well but didn't really care. I lost to a Messetsu hadoken/Air Hadoken/Ashura warper, very sloppy aggressive play on my part, got some stupid comment afterwards.
Next thing I know I'm facing him again in the final match...I get the laughing face thingie and I was like UGHH, just assumed I was gonna lose based on how I'd been playing. I played a slower game and let him go into his pattern and just waited, and eventually he decided to come to me and a few kicks later I was up 1-0 I was like Hmm lets do that again and the dood did the same nonsense and I walked off with the win and he must've been frustrated...teehee ^_^
And then in another match I beat some Abel player who felt it necessary to say my Chun was "horribad". So I was gracious enough to invite him to try again and he obliged and his Abel lost again. Then he resorted to ol faithful Ryu. Well he eeked out the win with the trusted jab SRK to Ultra.
You have a lot to learn before you can beat me...try again kiddo LOLZ
