Dudley: The Street Fighter IV Poll Winner

BlueFlight Posts: 673	Our friend and moderator, RedVirtue, came up with the idea for this interesting and topical thread. Of course, as many of us are well aware, Dudley won an early poll for inclusion in Street Fighter IV. In this poll he gained more votes than even the popular Sakura. However, the results of this poll were scrapped and from what I understand a new poll was set up. What is your opinion on Dudley's position and performance in the poll and Capcom's decision to exclude him from Street Fighter IV? Should the poll have guaranteed Dudley a spot in Street Fighter IV? Where should Dudley go from here? Let's have a civil, good spirited discussion about this important topic. "They say that seven enemies await any man who steps outside. And good job getting more signatures! Even though contrary opinion regarding the beloved Gentleman Pugilist is slim, I figured I should invite varying perspectives in case there are any. And thanks for the petition compliment. The petition would have a lot more signuatures, but I had to delete several due to the inappropriate comments those signees made. ShotokanTuning Posts: 657	Dudley won, no use of having a poll with characters that have no chance to begin with. That might have been a mistake, but a true man tries almost everything to keep his word. People argue that Balrog/M.Bison Boxer was added later and so Dudley would add less to the roster. This is indeed partly true, but by far not enough to ban him by default. Why not? Dudley plays much different than Boxer, he is in many ways the exact opposite. Characters that have a main part in the plot, or that have rivals often are loved twice as much from that point forward. The raw boxer vs the technical boxer is something that pulls in crowds to boxing matches all over. after seeing boxers enter K1 matches, everything became more real. Up to this point there are no SFIII characters in SFIV. With only Dudley there that would still make a world of difference, to all the fans. Now for the constant buyers and players, it actually partly feels like they were left in the cold for supporting the franchise for all these years. That can't be fan service. Dudley has no problems regarding story or age limitations for SFIV, his moves would work in the SFIV engine. There is a valid reason for not including Dudley in SFIV yet, if Dudley would be in a future update that would be a good selling factor. I never really was a Dudley fan, but I'm starting to get one... Some Classics: SFA3 Max, SFIII 3rd Strike. Classic: An artistic work of lasting worth exhibiting timeless quality.

Plus, I still remember that Unity member who asked Ono about Dudley ( I think it was about the poll? Now Im not sure) and he had commented on it. I must find the source! Seichusen-Godanzuki!
