Sounds like PS3 is getting the short end of the stick when it comes to replays, otherwise it sounds cool.

Yes it most definitely is, and that's annoying as hell.  In a way it sorta sounds like Capcom's suggesting they feel the better players (or the ones that take the game more seriously) are on the 360 side, and lesser skilled on the PS3 side.  It feeds into bias, and that's not a good thing.  At all.  But as a whole it does feel like Capcom-like the majority of publishers-are just favoring the 360 more mainly b/c it's the top seller out of the two here in the States, so while one can be a douche about it and cry a conspiracy, it's probably down to business strategy.  Even so, giving one group of console owners a feature that could potentially up their game considerably, and the other just a feature they'd likely use for sh*ts and giggles, is kinda tasteless.  I think there were (are) other, better ways they could've given some exclusive perks on both sides, that wouldn't be so damning on the competitive side (I mean it really does almost seem like the smart move-if you're thinking about seriously competing-would be to got the 360 way b/c you could get visual feedback on what competitors are doing in a match, seeing what buttons they press, when they press them, how fast they're pressing them, etc. etc.)  I actually expected something more responsible from a company like Capcom.

Oh and this is in no way meant to start up some fanboy stuff (I hate that sh*t); I'm just looking at the big picture and seeing how some people will read into this "haves-and-have-nots" stuff and how it could change how the competitive community will go console-wise to play the game.

But in other news, I'm damn excited for the PC version.  Mods ahoy!!!!

I just have one thing to say to the ungrateful nay sayers in this thread

THIS GAME IS NOT STREET FIGHTER III. IT'S STREET FIGHTER IV!

Honestly, go and play SF III if SF IV is such a dissapointment to you.

P.S. Bravo Capcom, thanks for the extra stuff!

for 10 years I ,along with many others, waited for what should have been the sequel to SF III, not going backwards in so many ways.

They said 3rd strike would be the end of the SFIII series, so to speak, when it came out.  Not sure why you expected a direct sequel, especially seeing as how SFIII didn't do well and a lot of people complain about it (parrying).

I think you should know 3rd strike is my favorite SF, but I just don't get you.

It would have been nice to play something new like SF3 at least accomplished, rather than more of the same rehashed junk we've already been playing for 20 years.  Focus Attack... yawn.  How fresh (sarcasm).

You don't wanna play SF? Fine King of Fighters is next door.

I think you crave something that is not SF, you want something like KOF or Melty Blood or something like Guilty Gear. It's ok to admit it.

I want to play SF, I just hate to see it have to de-evolve in order to sell.

I played 2 and 3 to death when they came out.  Each offered something respectively different and fresh in the series.  I don't see 4 having the kind of staying power as either of those two games.

My real beef with 4 isn't that it isn't 3 or Alpha or whatever.  It's that it isn't it's own game.  It broke the trend that made the series great, and just copied what every other fighting game has done.  SOS with a couple minor additions or changes.

Wat'cha talking 'bout?

Alpha did it right

III didn't

Alpha; Kept the SFII core mechanics intact, added some awesomeness to it

IV: Same, added awesomeness to it

III: Was the one which turned SF into another game.

I gotta go with the above post, I love SFIII probably my favorite in the series, but that IS what it did and what it intended to do from the start.  I mean, if they had left out ryu/ken as they had originally intended I don't even think they should've called it street fighter.

Not sure what's so yawn about focus attacks, anyway *shrug*.  They make a huge difference in the gameplay.  From the ability to build up Ultra meter potentially without taking real damage, to using it + back dash as a kind of worry-free kind of poke (or to escape), or focus + forward dash to put on the pressure like the korean champ does.  FADC'ing specials to extend combos, connect ultras, get in a sudden grab, escape from moves that would've left you open if you let them end normally.

If anything, focus attacks open up more options than parrying did.  Parrying just seems more expansive because it was easier and was without cost to do.

I love SFIII but all the whinning is getting dumb... If SFIII is so great and SFIV isn't then just go and play SFIII nobody is stopping you guys... Your gonna have to get over the fact that SFIV..... Is actually IV and not III. If they came out with a new Dark Stalkers that sucked and was nothing compared to the older ones awesomeness... Then i'd say oh thats lame, not buy it and continue playing the old ones... SERIOUSLY¬¬

http://eventhubstourneys.wetpaint.com/ - Visit this website for XBLA and PSN tournaments for fighting games!

I support a new Darkstalkers for Playstation 3/Xbox 360 (Give it the Street Fighter treatmenet).

Currently playing: Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, Uncharted 2, and Dragonball Raging Blast (PS3).

Got Raging Blast? Wanna have some fun Unity tournaments? Then head over to this thread - http://www.capcom-unity.com/general_off_topic/go/thread/view/7291/21851861/DB_Raging_Blast_Tournament_Set_Ups_PSN?sdb=1&pg=last#378457177
