Third Strike HD Remix: would even it be possible?

First off, this would be my dream game since 3S is still my all-time favorite fighter. But wouldn't having Udon artists redraw all of those extra frames by hand be extremely cost-prohibitive? We all saw how long it took to produce ST HD Remix, granted that wasn't entirely Udon's doing but I'm sure the artistic process was fairly time-consuming. And considering all of the extra frames of animation in 3S, I would think this would take an ungodly amount of time to produce.

And pardon if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know if Capcom is toying with the notion of releasing 3S "as-is" via DLC (PSN, 360, VC)? Seems like a no-brainer to me, I've already bought the home versions a couple of times over and would gladly buy them again. (Just give Genei-Jin a longer bar and I'm fine, really. Wink)

Thanks in advance for your input. Smile

As it works with these kind of things, usually Capcom is tight lipped until it nears release date, unless they do a remake/sequel thats when they will inform a long time before the game drops.

So nothing known at the moment. ;)

Some Classics: SFA3 Max, SFIII 3rd Strike.

Classic: An artistic work of lasting worth exhibiting timeless quality.

If they just created a filter to smooth the sprites, that would be good enough. All the sprites were hand drawn initially and the capcom SFIII artists were easily better than UDON's. I think a HD Remix version of Third Strike would make the game lose a lot of it's charm.

Don't let the Udon guys near it, they'll make it look like a cheap high school fan-fic.

It may be possible to rescan the original drawings though.

Maybe hire the guys responsible for the sprites in KoFXII, they look SWEET!

I'd say it would take at least 2 years and might be very expensive. I think a filter would be good enough for sf3 graphics

Yeah, SF3 uses alot more sprites per character than SSF2. It would take way too long and it probably wouldn't be that much of an improvement. I say just go with a filter if anything.

Although they would need to do is strectch and smooth the sprites for 1080p and i'd be sold.  Anything else would take FAR too long and would be too expensive.

A filter ala MvC2 is probably the way to go.  Of course, I'd also like to see a HD-style rebalance as alot of the mid to low tier characters are owned pretty badly.

I agree that a MvsC2 style filter would be plenty enough to make it rock. And they should hire tourney pros to rebalance just like HDR, as the above poster said.

That would be everyone's dream game!

The thing I fear is that if Capcom brings SFIII to PSN & XBLA, it will probably not get the same treatment as SFII & MVC2.

Capcom will probably just bring the original game with no new addtions.
