Cos everytime I am trying to pull a clutch move off, the ****ing move never comes out. Its coming to the point in which i want to take my controller and throw it out the window and spit on it on its way down. Its irritating as ****. How am I supposed to use the pad. I have a madcatz fightpad, that is not clutch at all. I try pulling off Sagats ultra, and it barely happens, so my question is how should i pull off the moves. Should i move my thumb all around the d-pad or should I just restrict it to its center. Also for pulling off shoryukens should I do a 'Z' movement or should I do a QCF type movement as in have my thumb on forward, and move it down the circles edge to down and then up tp DF.

no offence, but this post makes you look like it's the first time you're playing street fighter. The command list is in the game and there honestly is no secret trick to it. It's as simple as it looks and in sf4 it's the easiest to pull of these moves unlike other sf games where timing is very crucial or you need to hit some random frames. If you can pull of moves in sf3 then it should be easy here. The only logical explanation to me is your fightpad is mulfunctioning like so many others so make sure thats working properly. Check it on ur PC for al the inputs or even training mode should determine it. In the heat of battle everyone makes input mistakes in every fighting game, but if it happens a lot for even simple moves then you need to analyze the situation and figure out what's wrong. There is also input delay in laggy games so gameplay is not s smooth unfortunetly.

Lol, no this is in NO way my first time playing Street Fighter. I have been playing for years, BUT on a STICK, not a PAD. I can see the moves list clearly in the game. Thankyou for pointing it out tho. There is also one in the manual. I want to know any secret ways of pulling things off on the pad, since as I said before this is the first time I am using a pad.
Also I wanted to know how to efficiently use a pad, hence the topic. |

Other than the SFIV shoryuken shortcut motion (Down-forward twice) and the fact that you can put 3X Buttons or focus/whatever on the shoulder buttons don't know what to tell you. Shoryuken motion is Z, so go from forward, to down, to down-forward. With the shortcut motion (again, down-forward twice) you can also do downforward to down to downforward. Good for doing SRK motion while crouching and not having to get up. |

It doesn't matter if you never used a pad before. There's no trick to it. You definetly shouldn't be having such a hard time with simple motion so I suggest you check if you're fightpad is working properly. Afterall, it is made from madcatz so don't be shocked if there's hardware issues. A lot of people have already had defective pads so I hope you kept your reciept in case you need to exchange. Why don't uu try the 360 controller also, I know it sucks but see if the inputs work...anyways the whole point of the fightpad is to make the gameplay easier so I don't think it's your fault you're having problems

I haven't used that pad. I use a ps2 pad w/ my xbox. You don't get the random jumping or srk failure like you do on a default xbox pad. maybe better than a madcatz?

I use a madcatz standard P.O.S. controller which is horrible but I play so much NCAA that the standard ps3 controller that the damn R2 button always pops off and breaks. I thought about buying the fight pad but I think you've changed my mind. There is no way I am going to purchase a $100+ fight stick. That just makes no sense to me. I haven't played SF since SF II Championship turbo edition on Sega Genisis. I have had the game for 1 week and amazed at how fast people can pull off certain moves compared to my ability to execute but like the one guy said some peeps have been playing every game forever. I have like a 25% win ratio online, I don't think it's that bad for one week. All last night I just practiced all Akuma's moves over and over and over again so that it would become second nature. As much as this game pisses me off, if I lose 5 matches in a row when I finally win one it is So0o0o satisfiying, unlike other fighters I've played where it seems even if I win 10 in a row it just was that satisfying....tekken. |

I have no problem with the 360 d-pad. It is a little too sensitive but the motions all come out even in clutch situations. It maybe the pad, so I'll return it and get a new one. Thanks for the input, my freind. |
