I have never fought someone who was THAT ridiculously defensive, I guess I'm lucky! So far the way my opponent plays doesn't really frustrate me in a bad way, just in a good way like a puzzle to solve. But like I said, I've never encountered that level of ridiculous yet.

In your example though, I def would have rode the clock. If you let him win by falling for his BS you are conditioning him to keep doing it because it works (That may be giving them too much credit, I suppose they may do it no matter what).

I used to add a lot of ppl to my friendslist to fight, then championship mode came out and I cleared a lot off because "hey, I can find good competition easy now!" I'm gradually coming back around and filling up my friendslist again, lol.

You'll run into these people online no matter what game you're playing. Undecided It is especially frustrating when (like you mentioned) you are trying to rank up and you hit a constant stream of people not really playing the game. In the final scheme of things though, in my opinion, it is all about skill, not rank. Wink

I'm almost there. I stopped playing on random and immediately won 4 G2 champs in a row. Even if I'm winning is still takes a while to get those points. 13000 done, 2000 to go.

PS- We should play sometime its been like forever

We need more people in G1... There's like a 1000 I think XD.

There are a lot of people that are skilled highly in G1 though... You do find the idiots though, quite a lot of them aswell.

Hi Kev, it has been a while. If I get by Baberific(this weekend, hopefully), we'll be meeting in the final of the 360 tourney, but that's a big if! I'll be around tomorrow evening and saturday and sunday during the day if you want to throw down. I met a few Gens in g1 who have beaten me, so I definitely need the practice!

Adrian,

Indeed bro -- the players with the highest GP are usually 'that' type of player, as it involves taking very little risk, and when you land moves, you can effectively link them with very few 'suprises.' It's a real bland gameplay, and it usually makes the opponenet look like an amateur.

I've fought many many Balrogs that play like this -- it's a real pain in the ass, even with Sagat.  Heck there are quite a few Sagats that play like this too.  I think Honda was designed for that type of gameplay in 4 -- 'turtle guiles', etc.

In G1, that playing style is rampant.  There are now about 1K players with over 15K.  Even when there were only 200 players in G-1, you rarely ran into players that really 'wowed' you; I'd say that the vast majority just played a pretty good defense with an 'okay' offense.

I've come to realize that, like you, I tire of this gameplay and start making stupid decisions, after a few matches.  On days you're not feeling particularly patient, you should really take a break between tournaments, or you'll just wind up losing your cool and making more stupid decisions; in G1 that means lost GP.

...no, I won't play you again.
