Winning with Zangief takes about as much skill to win as most characters, with a few match exeptions.

I lol'ed... my opinion is the polar opposite.

I think he pretty much takes the least skill to play. Does that mean he takes none? No, but in comparison to other characters he is very idiot friendly - especially with his 360 cut down to 280.

But again, thats just my opinion.

It was always possible to be done with 280...  But I agree, he's idiot friendly, much like Blanka.

He took skill to use in SF2.  He doesn't in this game.

The lariat is really hard to go against for some characters, but not too much of a problem for Bison.

Bisons EX headstomp beats it as well as he's cr.HK. I do get really annoyyed sometimes becauses its all they do!!!

If you space yourself right, you could also do a standing HK to beat his lariat with Bison. Feels a whole lot safer than both the head stomp and c.HK sometimes since if you miss it's instant grab or you'll eat the lariat. Plus you can run if you miss, usually.

I played Zangief heavily on Street Fighter II Turbo and quite a bit on Alpha 2 and 3. I've played him against the computer on SFIV and damn but he's CHEAP. I'd play him online but I'd have to take a bath afterward everytime to wash the cheese scum off.

Sometimes I think of learning to main another character instead of the Gief I've been playing since Alpha 2, but then I see how much people cry and kick their feet about him and it drives me to play him more.

Character in my Avatar (AKA GROARK) for SSFIV, HURRR!!1!

After you win a match, do you actually believe that you have skill? This isn't a flame post or anything, I just want to know.

There will always, always, always be tiers in good fighting games.

You can either get used to that or badmouth the people who beat you with gief and sagat.

Just makes you look like a sore loser and a crybaby.

If you are only talking about people who simply mash lariat or whatever, then you should have specified.

Really the only 2 possibilities are:

1. you are losing to ppl who mash and spam (then why are you losing???)

2. you are losing to people who actually know how to play (then why are you complaining?)

You got it

Again, you are all taking it the wrong way and some of you are just being ignorant again. I'm not being a "Sore loser" or a "Cry baby" It was a simple question. I personally feel as if it takes very very little skill to win with Zangief based on my experiences. If you can't handle my opinion, and observations then that is your problem, but it'll be okay. I promise.

Saying you're not a troll doesn't  mean you're not a troll and Slappy's point that you shouldn't be losing to the stupid ones is valid.

Winning with anyone takes strategy. You must weigh risk/reward and adapt to your opponents manuvers. Doesn't matter what character you're using, Sagat, Dan or anyone in between (yes, that means Zangief too).

It may be easier for some than others (lower risk or greater rewards coming with some characters' repitoares vs high risk/low reward), but the fact is, that same issue remains, and that is strategy.

If someone is beating you with "no skill" then you might not be very good, or you're doing something wrong. Keep practicing and learn some better tactics!

People complaining is definitely  the last reason for you to change your main. Zangief will have his struggles with elite Seth,Ryu and Sagat players but what i find as pathetic as spammers are people who can't overcome it despite fighting a repetition over and over again still have no strategy against fire ball or lariat spamming etc the choice of whining and complaining outweighs practice and perfection among the scrubs.
