Disconnect Percentage!

currently have 0% but that percentage doesn't mean anything. One of the biggest problems with this system is to distinquish between a real disconnect or a rage quit. There have been quite a few times where a match never starts (gets stuck at the VS screen) or gets disconnected during a match because of a bad connection. I'm guessing this problem is worse with wireless connections since wireless isn't always a consistent connection and is susceptible to to many enviromental factors. I have played MANY players that have had 10% disconnects or higher and they have NEVER disconnected on me be it I am winning or that person is winning.

On XBL, I haven't seen anyone's % go up because of legitimate connection problems. Is that happening on PSN?

Yeah. I use a wi-fi connection and whenever I get disconnected, my percent doesn't increase nor decrease. I don't know about the other person though.

It depends on how many fights you have had, thats why its a percentage. 1% of 100 fights is 1 disconnect, 1% of 1000 fights would be 10 disconnects. If your on 9 and 1000 fights it wont show because it was less than 1% disconnect rate.

It all depends on how much you play the game :)

I was just about to post that! Beat me to itTongue out

Anywho, I was playing SFIV in ranked during the first week after it came out when the "tree-trimming" experts dropped a very large branch on a power line a mile from my house. I am sure i had less than 150 fights in by then, so it made sense that I had a 1% next time I got on.

I have never raged quit. I take it like a man if im going to lose.

If i run into someone with 4% or higher disconnect ratio, i leave or boot them.

I hate when people do that, I find it almost as bad as rage quiting. I have 3% and people boot me all the time, but I've NEVER left a match because I was losing.

I can undestand why people might get mad for being booted because they have a 4% or higher dissconnect, But seing as I have a 0% and every time i make an exception and play someone with a 3 or 4% i instantly regret it during the first match. Never fails and I try not to disscriminate because i know things happen and its not always the persons fault for the % but i swear I let it slide once and I get a laggy connection that my grandma would laugh @, but the way i see it If you have a 4% or higher or your ur connection is less than 3bars im booting you. Dont take it personal but id rather have a lose or win due to skill and not the internet or a poor sport. Thats my opinon, and if ur on xbl and see xXCBK SupaDANXx in a tourny edition than get booted than you know why, sorry in advance! PLCG!

I actually haven't had anyone disconnect through rage quitting after the championship update. I see some people in g2 with 4% and higher, im not sure how that happens. I don't care about percentage as much as i care about bars. i don't play 1 bar rooms. but 2 bars,, i will if its just the 1st or 2nd battle because typical i havent had issues with them on 360.

I play people with 2 bars and 1 or 0% but not 4 or higher. If it is 4-5% I will play only if they have a 4 or 5 bar connection with me. However I have regretted this multiple times. I have been rage-quit on by 4%+ people in both ranked in championship mode many times now.

I'm pretty sure the reason the percentages are high is because it counts for both champ mode and ranked matches and some people are still ragequitting every time they lose in a ranked fight!

To me, this is where the current system falls short. Would you play a person with a 25% disconnect rate? What if they only played 4 games and it was because of a power outage? It would be nice to have a percentage AND number of actual disconnects.
