Supers and Ultra's combos

The whole purpose of the ultra is to beat your opponent.You need to find a way to catch people with the ultras.I suggest to watch pros on youtube or buy a strategy guide.

Yes Balrog can juggle, Sakura can link her Ultra.


 


But what are the chances? Sakura can't get anyone with her EX shunpukyaku


Balrog can be punished if he misses the anti-air


Rufus can be punished if he goes for air HK


To pull of Chun-Li's combos you need to really get down and do them, if you miss some of the links you're in for some pain


 


Ryu/Sagat it's like, turtle all day and anti-air your ass





Sakura's EX hurricane kick can be tacked onto the end of a lot of her combos and if you dash it makes it easier to connect off of that.  Balrog is the same way in that the vast majority of his combos can end in headbutt -> Ultra.  If you were arguing that the damage is reduced for these characters due to damage scaling I'd understand, but you're not so... here we are.

Cannon spike -> FABD (focus attack back dash) -> Ultra.


or


Cannon spike -> FADC -> Ultra, but you'll get fewer hits and less damage.

Also off of spin knuckle, also EX low to the ground cannon strike, you can also do two of these in a row in order to hit confirm before going into the Ultra.  Pretty sure I also saw a spiral arrow into Ultra once but it seemed mighty situational.  It like caught them mid-air and knocked them upward for some reason.

It's impossible to get anyone with her EX shunpukyaku


 


I can see that move coming a mile away it's just too slow/predictable. (I mean unless there are people who can pull it off out of the blue consistantly which is very rare I think)


I do combo off of it when I do get someone with it though(lotsa damage)



Sadly all her moves are just too slow, braaaaaaah! pisses me off

Uhh, Scarecrow.  You do know I mean you do it at the end of a combo, right?  Pretty much all her combos go into it and it connects off them.  There's no "I saw it coming and dodged it" if it's part of a combo, you know...

Crouching fierce is my savior in that regard. It's a solid move to punish with (it's horizontal range isn't spectacular, but I wouldn't trade it's AA quality for that) and it goes right into EX Shun. Off the vert I get Jumping Roundhouse, C. Fierce, EX Shun, followed by a free Ultra. Damage isn't incredible, but it's a free Ultra that was incredibly easy to combo into.

PS: But overall she's still too weak(bottom tier), takes too much damage + her Ultra is crap. I'd be ok if one balanced the other(Ultra with big damage would rock). SFIV Dash better fix her up.

she takes too much damage




For a female character, she's the strongest at 950. No female character has HP higher than this.

The thing about people who complain about ultra's because they are match levelers, is most of the ultras have a risk reward thing attached.


Chun li's  for example is really only a counter for fb and silly people fa or fadc. done on a jump in or in a misread wake up game you can 1) look like a compleate t*t when you keep going and they get a great time to hit you with something.


however i can see the complaint when talking about some chars ability to connect ryus ultra connections are unbeleivble easy as is sagats and balrog for that matter.


Ultras or/and supers will always be part of the game though and so they should be imo, they add to the match and make things intense towards the end of a round.

Chun Chun can combo into her ultra after her ex lightening leg kick, and her command combo kick (not sure what its called...=( back mk, mk, down up k), and those two set ups can be linked from a variety of moves, mind you. So you can be aggressive and still land your ultra, not just a counter.
