Don't fall in love with her Ultra unless you know for a fact you're gonna get someone with it.
After that just learn her priorities(they're universal). So if her sweep has priority(faster) than Ryu, then it'll be faster/better against other characters as well(minus Balrog who seems to act faster than anybody). But yes she's fun, not as bad as the other Alpha characters ^Saying that line makes me sad though... :(

You have to play a lot of head games if you want to land Rose's air grab or ultra. If you have a good mix-up you can get people afraid to jump in, allowing you to take advantage of her pretty good ground game. Her air grab has really odd priority, do some practice to see what it stuffs. I'm pretty sure you can grab people out of hurricane kick, as well as some other moves. Her low MKs are awesome. You can make low MK slide by pressing the low forward corner+MK. It's pretty fast and cuts off a lot of fierce kicks. Her ultra can grab people out of A LOT of moves, just make sure you don't blow it because she is super-vulnerable after it misses. Again, practice to see what moves you can punish. Some characters recover quickly and can block. You really have to experiment a lot. Her EX moves aren't much better than her regular moves, so save your super meter. She can do A LOT of moves into her super. A few pokes, her regular fireball, and her soul fist ALL cancel into her super for decent damage. Her Soul Reflect requires strict timing and can be used to absorb fireballs (Jab), reflect them straight (strong), or reflect them at an upward angle (fierce). I would recommend absorbing projectiles because doing so adds to your super meter. Most people don't fall for the reflected attack, so absorbing the fireball benefits your game the most. Plus, if you get in a fireball war with some scrub shoto, absorbing fireballs builds your meter to you can do some EX fireballs to turn the tide. Hope that helps!

Rose is strong and should be played pretty offensively. if you try and turtle it wont bode well unless you know every counter in the game for her.
oh, and her dashing punch move is crucial. that damn thing always gets me >_> |

Rose is a vicious WHOREhound... but you must be offensive with her to get her true purpose going.

On the ground, do that dashing special move she does with her glowing ribbon and use this with a follow up crouching medium kick and that ribbon dash special again to overwhelm an opponent. When the opponent jumps use the anti air grab but this has to be timed well. I usually don't use her projectiles unless the opponent is on the other side of the screen. It has horrible lag time. |
