Was this decent for a Game Boy game?

It was a moderate start for a legendary franchise. It doesn't compare to what we see today but it's fun to play once in a while.

SF2 was also on the Game Boy?! Wow, didn't know that.

I think the problem w/ GB fighting games was that the GB couldn't really handle the speed of fighters that were in the arcade or consoles. However, because I haven't played the game, I can't say if this problem effected SF2 for Game Boy, though I'm sure it wasn't as good as the arcade/console versions.

Actually the GB version wasn't that bad. The controls were ok except for the fact that you only had 2 buttons(punch and kick) instead of the arcade setup of 6. The graphics were a mixture of SF2 and SSF2 and actually didn't look that bad except for the blur on the old GB screen. The music was decently close to the original and the game had head to head with a link cable for VS mode. Check it out for yourself. Smile The only thing is that its missing E.honda, Dhalsim, and Vega(Claw).

SSF2T/HD Remix: FeiLong, DeeJay, Thawk, Cammy, Zangief, Dhalsim, Guile, Vega(Claw), Balrog(Boxer)
A2/3: Gen, Karin, Guy, Sodom, Birdie, Charlie, Sakura, Vega(Claw), Balrog(Boxer), R.Mika, Zangief, Juli, Juni, FeiLong, Dhalsim, Thawk, DeeJay, Cammy, Guile
SF33S: Hugo, Q, Sean, Twelve, Remy, Elena, Dudley, Yang
SF4: Abel, Guile, FeiLong, Gen, Dan, Cammy, Zangief

Although most other people here seem to like it, I would say it was really bad. And this doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it is a Game Boy game. "Mortal Kombat II" for the Game Boy was pretty authentic, gameplay-wise. And if you want to play a good Game Boy conversion of a "Street Fighter" game, try "Street Fighter Alpha" for the Game Boy Color. So, it can be done right. But "Street Fighter II" for the Game Boy was crap. The characters jumped much too high. When you jumped straight up, at the top point you could only see the feet of your fighter on the screen. Also, the whole moves just don't feel like the real thing. Everything is too delayed. I never liked this game. Fighting games can be done right on the Game Boy, but this one was a disappointment.
