Hello PPL. Listen, i Just bought a TE fighstick 3 days ago and i need to know somethings about it. 1. Why is it better than using a regular controller? 2. Will i eventually get used to it? 3. I tried using my 360 controller and it felt better and i felt more in control with it rather that my fightstick. Why is that. 4. Im unhappy with it. should i give it a few days before i sell it on craiglist? 5. How long did it take u guys to get used to your fightsticks? 6. And most importantly... HOW DOES IT IMPROVE YOUR GAME??? Please help me im really desperate and in need of answers. PS: i use the "NO ****" method(same one daigo uses) to hold my stick |

It's about preference. It should just feel better for you. It will improve your game by adding much more comfort & precision. If it doesn't feel right, than a stick isn't for you. If you'v been playing on a controller, you learn to play different than a stick user, so essentially you'd have to unlearn the way you play. Play for a couple days & if it doesn't feel right, go ahead & sell it.
Coming Soon: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, Bayonetta, Dark Void, Monster Hunter Tri |

I'm in the same boat, just got a Hori FS3 a month ago and then got the TE last week. I just think to myself, been playing on pad for my whole life so I'm gonna give the stick more than a couple of months to get comfortable with it. Just be sure to restrict yourself from going back to pad, or you'll give yourself a relaps.

Probably should have ask yourself those questions before purchasing the stick lol. I am actually intrigued. Why did you buy the stick? I ask, because the questions you listed were the same questions I asked myself before I bought mine. If I were you I would give it more time. If you don't have time, you should sell it. Converting takes a lot of practice, especially if it's your first time using a stick. |

1. Why is it better than using a regular controller? >>>> I find it easier to pull off combos, links, cancels, ultras w/ the stick then the controller. When I play with the pad, I can't FADC to well or dash forward or backward. 2. Will i eventually get used to it? >>>> If you play the pad your whole life and ever played on the arcade, it will take time getting used to it because the buttons are more spreaded out and your brain gotta get used to where the buttons are and hand/finger movements. 3. I tried using my 360 controller and it felt better and i felt more in control with it rather that my fightstick. Why is that. >>>> you're just more comfortable w/ the pad then the stick. put in more hours of practice and you'll lose more often until you start getting used to it. 4. Im unhappy with it. should i give it a few days before i sell it on craiglist? >>>> give it a few months and many hours 5. How long did it take u guys to get used to your fightsticks? >>>> I used to play SF on the arcade, I got used to it pretty quickly. My grip on the TE stick is to wrap the stick between my pinky and ring finger, my thumb sits on the top of the ball. If you look on youtube, there should be videos on how to grip the joystick. My friend uses the Eagle claw and it works for him, in fact, I use that from time to time and my combos and links come out much easier and feel more comfortable. 6. And most importantly... HOW DOES IT IMPROVE YOUR GAME??? >>>>> see point 1.
Good luck. |

1. Why is it better than using a regular controller? The stick is easier to move than a pad, you don't hurt your fingers while playing with a stick and the buttons are layed down to help your movement. 2. Will i eventually get used to it? Once you find the most comfy way to hold it for you, you will get used to it. Click. Somebody posted that video here but I forgot who. It's helpful. 3. I tried using my 360 controller and it felt better and i felt more in control with it rather that my fightstick. Why is that. Because you're used to the 360 controller. However, the 360 pad sucks and even the 360 fanboys agree on that. 4. Im unhappy with it. should i give it a few days before i sell it on craiglist? Find a comfy way to hold it and a comfy way to play it with. I find it comfier to play on the floor rather than putting it on my lap. 5. How long did it take u guys to get used to your fightsticks? I live in the arcades and all the fighting games there use Japanese sticks, so straight away.. 6. And most importantly... HOW DOES IT IMPROVE YOUR GAME??? I move better with a stick and It's just easier to do everything. Plus, you don't have to count on shortcuts to pull off the Ultra. |
