When it comes down to it, a number of stages in SFIV look like rush-jobs.  The China stage with its many spectators and half-decent texture work looks solid but others like Seth's lab or the Cruise ship look incredibly bland.  It almost seems as if the team rushed a bunch of stages for variety but ended up with a whole lot of dull.  Some of the better stages use dramatic lighting to hide the bland texture work that plagues most of the backgrounds.  I find stages like the distillery and the bridge to be noticeably poor largely because of the textures and the lack of any dramatic lighting.  I would love to see the bridge stage to be set at sunset or something similar because as it stands I find it to look very PS2ish.

For me new stages are important but a number of the existing ones could use some work.  I look at stages like the Diner and China as being what should be standard across the board.  Unfortunately, the gas bar where you destroy the car looks to be a bit dull with some really ugly textures (again).  Adding a bunch of extra stages doesn't really do anything if they aren't exciting.  Personally I found Alpha 2 to have some of the best, most atmospheric stages.  I'd really like to see the same from SSFIV's new backgrounds.

note: Lava gives off a red glow which may  give surround objects a red hue, basically objects that are near it's height. Kilauea is a shield voclano it produces massive lava flows and erupts a lot.

I think the Volcano stage was supposed to look like Gouken and Gouki's CG fight background. But it was so brightly colored and saturated it just looked more like Mars.

Juri is freaking awesome i think i get the game just for her or for Ibuki, the price is ok i guess but would like a new soundtrack with the new character music in it and a juri fig and ps3 can have hakan.

I'm glad to see these awesome modes just don't do breakable arena's like mk and doa.

awesome the mode that looks like survival looks promising

and having SF3 character wont damage the curent story line, if i remember SF3 is set in an alt-world meaning that they can be implanted in SSF4 in this world and be a bit order or go to the same school as Sakura. just a few changes here and there..... but they always can make another SF set in that other world.

that would make you all happy right?

I am a Ibuki, Cammy, Elena player and soon a Juri

Ibuki, Makoto and Elena for Super Street Fighter 4.

Im up for a New Darkstalkers game and a anime with SF3 characters.

I like the volcano stage.  I think it's a pretty epic looking setting for a battle.  The only ones I don't really like are Seth's lab, the cruise ship and the diner.  The cruise ship and the diner both remind me of Balrog's casino stage from 2, which is nice for nostalgias sake, but I just don't think they're that appealing.

Also, yeah, I've been waiting for the stormy grass stage again.  Just too awesome.  And I think a back alleyway make for a sweet stage.  With some graffiti on the walls and trash cans to knock over.

Alley

I support a new Darkstalkers.

Don't have much of an issue with the stages, perhaps that the character's themes don't play when you face them. That and it seems only a few of the stages apply to certain characters.
