In terms of making SF3 co-exist with the storyline, its not that hard. They could just say that the SF2 cahracters we know and love were doing their own thing, its just that SF3 didnt tell about it. A lot of people thought in SF3, the SF2 characters just retired, died, stopped fighting etc. But Capcom never says that, they might have just been doing their own thing. Capcom should just work towards showing what the other characters could have been doing during the events of SF3. Lets take Guile for example. Some people thought, oh no in SF3 he became a family man. Maybe he didn't enter the SF3 tournament because he was looking for Charlie. Just an example to help you get what Im trying to say.

Remember when we saw some of the wild Supers in the Alpha series and people said "How come this takes place in the past and yet, Ryu and Ken have more Supers when they were younger than when they are older and wiser in SSF2T?"  Capcom just said something along the lines of "In the story they could, we just dont see it in the game." In letting SF3 coexist ( I would hate if they totaly overrode it,) they just need to mention that the characters from SF2 / SF4 are doing their own thing, still fighting, in the time of SF3, but we just dont see it. That way they could set up a proper SF5 with the characters we know and love.

I believe you and thanks for this list...ENGLAND caught my attention the most. Can we say "Let's fight like gentlemen?"

:D

It could just be Cammy though or it might even point out to the Scottish Distilery stage... Plus perhaps the map is left deliberately incomplete so we can't tell which and where from the new fighters will be ;-)

Then surely it'd be a Scotland stage? Scotland and England are seperate countries you know!?!?!

Yes that is true but to be honest i didn't get a good look at the map myself and quite often when people see the map of Britain they just say "England" even though it is wrong ;-)

I didn't think it was possible to hate this stage.  Most colorful stage in the game!

It's my favorite.

Same for me, i love it :-)

My least favorite stage is the Volcano and the Russian one although i am beginning to like it. Volcano just doesn't seem to fit with SF at all IMO, it looks like an afterthought and something i would expect to see in MK or a Tekken game

oh and one more thing regarding stages: does anyone think that the reason why SF II stages look so iconic even today has mostly to do with the actual designs or perhaps is it cause it was a breakthrough game at that time and millions where playing it - thus becoming iconic as a whole?

Cause i worry that regardless of how brilliant SSF IV is bound to be, if they just do a rush job with all the extra stages it might take away from the overall greatness of it. Which is why i think Capcom will indeed re-make a lot of stages, not only from SF II but also from SF III 3rd Strike and even Alpha series, depending on the corresponding characters (FF as well) so that they will not waste too much time researching and risk dissapointing fans

I think the reason why those backgrounds in Street Fighter 2 were so iconic is because of these elements:1) each character has her or his own stage, and those stage tell us a lot about the characters, 2) the music were very unique and match the stage very well.

People are confusing SFIV stage-specific BGMs with match-up-specific BGMs. A lot.

Anyway, I like Overpass (my favourite... and also looks like the park where I go jogging! Tongue out ) Crowded Downtown, Beautiful Bay, Drive In, Distillery, Snowy Rail Yard, Small Airfield and both Temples.

Volcanic Rim is not that bad. But it's really empty. Lazy.

Cruise is awful.

Jungle is terrible. I would want a jungle stage for Blanka, but seriously that **** is a joke. SF2 stage, SF Alpha stage, even the crashed plane project... they all were better than this.

For Blanka I want a real jungle stage filled with greenery like in Alpha3 and SF2 I would also like to see more people and animals or take it to Sao Paolo in the middle of a dirt road surrounded by shantis or Rio with a huge water fall in the background with beautiful water and caves.

I miss Zangief's SF2 stage and music it had the russian wording and factory feel

A real Guile stage would be nice an american airforce base and the surrounding people could trip out if you break a wing on a jet

Dhalsim with Gigantic elephants or in the middle of a village like in the SF2 AM

Or Capcom could just make SFV a retelling of SFIII and include the SFII cast along with most of the cast from SFIII.  If SFIV can be a prequel (and still be called SFIV), then SFV could easily be a retelling with a modified storyline.

good news in general. I watched the car stage, but i got to admit after watching a few times, indeed ryu or/and the car seem a little bit of.. hope the re-balance that. As for the stages, im sure they're not giving new stage in the map from the trailer, just wait and see, im sure we get char specific stages, hope sagats for the most part, that statue is classic!

More Muay Tai, less Shoto's.

But there are new stages in the map!

I can't place any of the SFIV stages in South Korea, India or on the East Coast of the US.

So the dots there have to be new stages, one of them being obviously Juri's.
