We saw this extra feature in the PC version of SFIV and it was a nice addition to the game imo. I hope they put this option in SSFIV for both consoles.

(Sorry if thread already exists or is misplaced)

Bump, the ink filter gives it the hand drawn look I thought it would have in the first place.  It's really hard to get excited about console exclusive downgrade.

I'd rather have them work on some useful features instead of graphics optimizations just so they can get in a bunch of filters. Two of the three filters look pretty lame, anyway.

I dont think this feature will take them much time to add since they already developed it. Next to that its just an additional option and the player has a choice of wether to use it or not. It would be nice if they at least gave the option between normal and ink

It is very, very unlikely that the same programmers that take care of graphic settings also work in game balance.

Ono in the interview said they'll focus more on something like the art style of

SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO

Which is something like this.

A linear painting art style.

Super Street Fighter IV
New Characters

Juri Han
Hakan

Alpha3/Final Fight characters

Cody and Guy

I like that art style but not that sketch in particular. His head is way too small.

Yes, it's only the coloring, texture and palate. But the art style will be different since we have a different artist in the SFIV-series.

Ono stated the new sketch style's purpose was mostly for the promotional trailers to compare to Super Street Fighter II.  Since a "sketch" style is full of so many fine lines and details though, it being applied in-game would be unlikely due to graphics constraints, so overall the graphics will look the same.  That said though, it could definitely be reflected in SSFIV's (likely new) menu design.

"As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no 'I' in team, but there is an 'I' in pie. And there's an 'I' in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about."
